We are leaving for our vaction on Thursday and currently have a premium car reserved through Alamo as it is the cheapest rate that we could find. I have been looking at the trunk capacity for the premium cars mentioned in this forum and am concerned that we will not be able to fit everything in. Our neighbor has an Impala and we can fit everything in their trunk. Since an Impala is generally a fullsize car through Alamo, my question is whether or not I can take a car from the fullsize aisle if necessary without any complications at the gate? Will I be charged a different rate? Will I have to check with the gate attendant before taking a car from the fullsize aisle. Thanks!!

The Chevrolet Impala comes in three models: LS (the trunk just says Impala), the Impala LT, and Impala LTZ. The LTZ is the highest model, with deluxe features such as a Bose sound system.

When picking a rental car, you're likely to see the LS and LT classified as a Full-size.

You're likely to see the LTZ classified as a Premium. It's the same size as the LS and LT, but it's a fancier, more expensive car. So if you've reserved Premium, look for an Impala LTZ.

Better yet, if they have a Ford Taurus, go for that. The current Ford Taurus has a larger trunk capacity than a Chevrolet Impala. And it's a really nice car for a family vacation.
