Alamo Rental ?

I was checking the rates for next April and a little confused over the pricing.
If I rent from April 23-April 30th the rate is around 600/wk. If a rent an extra 3 days before or after that time frame( April 20-April 30 or April 23- May 3)the rate drops to 188 or so for a compact. Is this normal?

Nope. Some type of glitch. But don't expect to book the ten day rate and return it after a week, and pay just $188. You'll likely be charged the $600 (plus, maybe, an early return fee).

Easter rates. Easter is April 24th in 2011. That is the only thing I can think of. Try different car companies and see if a there is a pattern.

It's not unusual for this to happen, I've had it happen to me before also.
If you picked up 4/22 at noon and dropped off 4/30 at 1:00pm the base rate for a compact is $157.01
I have a feeling it might have something to do with spring break or Easter?

I did find if you pick up at the Dolphin hotel on 4/23 at noon and drop off at MCO 4/30 at noon you can get a full size SUV base rate $268, and a compact is $270. Go figure. It will still be around $350 total but that's better than $750-$800 for a compact from the airport. You can play around with the pickup and drop off times to suit your needs.

You could book something like that and keep checking regularly for rates from the airport.
