:cool1: Alamo rates went down again. My rental for 10 days on Chevrolet Uplander went from $272. down to $191.00. I am so excited. :cheer2: That was using the walmart codes along with the entertainment coupon.

1) when are you going? We are going Aug 2 - 11.
2) How do I try for this rate?

Thanks.

When are you going?

We are not going until Sept. but the rates still seem up there in price.

Also how do you get the coupon from the entertainment book????

Thank you

Found the site etc. I get $307 for 9 days in August (Minivan) which is very good thanks. I may watch a while anyway but just may grab it also and be done with it.

I did notice I get $307 with or without D24C in the coupon code.

Aso wondered if I kept going with the reservation, would it eventually drop 15% if I pay for it right then? That would be $260 and very reasonable, plus maybe get another $25 somehow with that coupon?

I used the walmart codes BY and 428448 from the Mousesavers website
and coupon code:D24C from the entertainment book.
If you go to: www.alamo.com/hotDealsTemplate.do?msg=entertainment_com_25off_coupon that should give you the coupon if I did it right. I don't know if you will need to show an entertainment card or not. Good luck.

I'm still confused as to how you are all using like 3 codes, what am I missing? I am using Costco discount - percentage off, plus $25.00 coupon for my Equinox June 30-July 14 - for 2 weeks, we are still at $309.00 (MCO-MCO), so I'm not sure what the deal is? Can anyone help?

The rates are lower if your trip is closer. My rates are still the same and we leave this weekend. However, we have a good rate. Keep in mind that sometimes prepay method gives the lowest rate. Here's my info: We leave this weekend. We have a mid-size SUV reserved from Apr. 23-May 5 (13 days--counted as 2 weeks).

If we use the walmart code (428448 plus D24C/$25 coupon) total: $234
If we use the ent. code from coupon (7011339 plus D24C/$25) total: $234
If we use "Prepay" plus coupon (D24C/$25) total: $221

Prepay is a good method only if you are close to going and have an exceptional rate that you don't think will drop. I did prepay for this trip (and my last trip). My total is $228, so it's not worth changing it, because I have a $5 fee, so my savings would only be $2. However, I'm very happy with a 2 week rental of a mid-size SUV, all taxes and fees for $228.

The rates are still too high for us for our 5 day August trip and our 13 day October trip, so continue to watch for lower rates from Alamo or National for these dates--so far nothing that I would be happy with.

I used the bjs coupon book(located in your local bj's) and got the equinox for $140.28 taxes included for 7 days. I am thrilled to get such a great deal! We are going at the end of August. I think the longer out you book, the cheaper the prices are.

i used costco id 675899 with D24C ($25 coupon ) to get a convertible for the weekend rate of $89.17 for the first week of may

Thanks. Our rate is $154.00 per week (all taxes/fees incl.) for June 30 - July 14. My hubby and I think it's good, it's just not as good as some of you are reporting.

I'll keep trying as our vacation gets closer, Tiger
