The rates are lower if your trip is closer. My rates are still the same and we leave this weekend. However, we have a good rate. Keep in mind that sometimes prepay method gives the lowest rate. Here's my info: We leave this weekend. We have a mid-size SUV reserved from Apr. 23-May 5 (13 days--counted as 2 weeks).
If we use the
walmart code (428448 plus D24C/$25 coupon) total: $234
If we use the ent. code from coupon (7011339 plus D24C/$25) total: $234
If we use "Prepay" plus coupon (D24C/$25) total: $221
Prepay is a good method only if you are close to going and have an exceptional rate that you don't think will drop. I did prepay for this trip (and my last trip). My total is $228, so it's not worth changing it, because I have a $5 fee, so my savings would only be $2. However, I'm very happy with a 2 week rental of a mid-size SUV, all taxes and fees for $228.
The rates are still too high for us for our 5 day August trip and our 13 day October trip, so continue to watch for lower rates from
Alamo or National for these dates--so far nothing that I would be happy with.
