I booked with Alamo over a month ago and usually the prices fluctuate and I end up rebooking a few times for a lower rate. Sometimes the rates would change multiple times during the course of the day/week. But for our upcoming trip April 12-16, the rates have not changed 1 penney..?

Anyone else notice this?

almost ditto...;)
i booked almost 2 months ago for our may 1-10 trip, and the price is within $1.50 every time i've checked

more pennies, but not worth changing for. btw, i was going to add an additional day, but the price was about $45 more for an economy :guilty: figured that was not too "economical" so we'll be vehicle-less the last day

I successfully bid 15.00 per day on a compact on Priceline last night for April 8-13. I ended up with Avis (never used them before).

We booked Alamo a month ago for our May 16-21 trip. I have been checking but the prices arent changing at all...unfortunately we dont have a saturday overnight keep so I cannot use any of the good coupons LOL....but I am using the BJ's Contract ID and the Free Double Upgrade from the Entertainment Book and am only paying 150.00 and that has free second driver and is a Full Size car.

Thanks...that would still work and save us a lot. Where did you get the entertainment book? I know I saw something about it on mousesavers....thanks again for all your help :)

My mom bought it for me a few months back...but I do recall that you can actually get it for like 15.00 right now...not sure what website though..

Glad I could help. I am hoping they put out some new discount codes that dont require a sat night keep...the ones out now u must pick up the car by 4/30/10 so I need one for through may

alright... so shortly after I posted this thread the rates did move by more than a penny..

Actually went up...alot!!:scared1: Glad I already had something on hold.

I've been checking rates for late August and even my husband's corporate contract codes aren't very good. AND there aren't any worthwhile coupons that are good through August yet, so I have a feeling I'm going to be waiting this one out for a while.

I bought the book, but I don't see the Alamo double upgrade coupon in there. Do I have to register online to get it?

OMG.... just checked my rate again today and we have a midsize, but noticed a 7 passenger van with taxes $1255!! :scared1: Yes thats one thousand, two hundred and fifty five dollars!! It was more than a 15 passenger van!

Yes the ET Book Double Upgrade is an online coupon...sorry I didnt mention that to begin with

try putting SUNPROMO in the ID/CORP ID see what you getprincess:

I just played with the May 16-21 dates and saved half off a van (example only)princess:

Where did u get the SUNPROMO code? Do i need to present a coupon at the counter?

Sun promo code is an ID code so you do not need to present it. It is on Alamos site under hot deals. The coupons are the ones that sometimes need to be presented. If it says e-coupon thought that means its an electronic coupon and I do not believe you need it.

I'm not sure when you're traveling because your ticker is down. You might want to get a new one on the tops of these threads. But, alamo has some coupons $25- $30 off rental. $30 off expires 4/30, but keep checking back because they do change them up. Also, mousesavers usually has a pretty good list. If you have a Saturday night stay they have a couple of codes/coupons for Visa & Mastercards too.

You should be able to use:
ID: sunpromo and a coupon.

My National rate dropped this week for my April 24-May 7 reservation. It was the first time it dropped since making it. It went from $334 to $291 for a TWO WEEK reservation, full size/Executive Aisle, which makes it around $145 a week after taxes. I think that is pretty good. I think it dropped on Wednesday this week, but by late Thursday it had gone back up and now higher than my original rate. I did post the drop on the boards, so not sure if any one jumped on it or now. I am using 5007160 and $40 coupon ND1881JDK (e-coupon). My daughter has a mid-size with Alamo using the Costco code and $30 coupon and is paying $70 before taxes for a one week rental ($120 after taxes). I booked this one a few months ago, but the rates have gone up since then. I agree with Alamo minivan, Sunpromo and the $30 coupon AD2123JMC is the best deal for a minivan.

We are arriving Sat 4/30 and taking DME to Pop. Budget is sending a shuttle to take us to Doubletree in DTD and we will be returning the car the following Sat 5/7 in the a.m and taking DME back to MCO the following day. We found a rate of $286.77 total for the week on a minivan as there are 6 of us.

We used Budget codes x474200 and MUGZ304. Does anyone think I will be able to beat this price as my trip draws near or should I just stop checking and driving myself crazy????
