Alamo rates not budging a cent

I just got this when I tried to use SUNPROMO code.

It is only sold out with that code. If you don't put a code in they have plenty of cars. Nice trick by them.

The sunpromo is not a trick they only allow a certain number of rentals using this code and they may have reached that set number.

We are arriving Sat 4/30 and taking DME to Pop. Budget is sending a shuttle to take us to Doubletree in DTD and we will be returning the car the following Sat 5/7 in the a.m and taking DME back to MCO the following day. We found a rate of $286.77 total for the week on a minivan as there are 6 of us.

We used Budget codes x474200 and MUGZ304. Does anyone think I will be able to beat this price as my trip draws near or should I just stop checking and driving myself crazy????

No! Don't stop checking! Read the thread titled Car rentals in may (active on this board) and posters there note how they can change a lot at the last minute, so check right up until the last day! You can definitiely get lower...

I just priced out a minivan on Alamo using your 04/30-05/07 dates and got a rate of $243 with taxes and fees.Go to the alamo site and in the right side of the page under Alamo Rental car Specials, click on 'Last Minute Specials'.
Find the minivan rate for Orlando and also use coupon :AD4027JDO for an additional $40 off. Let me know how you make out.

Thanks for the Alamo tip. I think we might switch and rent with them at MCO. I was going to rent offsite for 1 day less and use MME, but this ends up being cheaper and we have the car for an extra day.

Apparently early Dec is also a *hot* time to rent, as they are already sold out and I got the same message...

Why did someone revive a car rental thread from 2010?

Remember too if you are checking for rates for rental cars (or flights or hotels) cookies get saved on your computer from the rental sites that remember you. And each time you log in they know you have come back and thereby know what your rates were previously.
So if you clear your cookies, reboot your computer and then try to search you will usually get a cheaper rate! good luck!
