Alamo price change on existing reservation

Sweet! Thanks for drawing my attention to this!! Shaved about $40 off for my 2 week rental!

My reservation with Dollar still has the surcharge fee. Even if I try to book a new reservation for September it is there.

Thank you. My reservation dropped about $30. Let's see if this sticks. I hope, I hope, I hope. :flower3:

Florida surcharge of $2.00 per day is back and my reservation was adjusted automatically. Knew it was too good to be true.

Yep, restored to its original state. Easy come, easy go. :teleport:

So, I had printed the lower priced from yesterday, but since it's only $10 difference, I'm going to show that at the rental, but maybe I won't and just finish the online final to skip the lines with the original price I had, which is still the lowest I have seen so far. Agreed, come and go, but what a teaser.

my2cents ... a print out showing a lower price (without)

the $2.00 a day fee would not be complete/valid ... until the surcharge is added.

Interesting. I usually use costco to reserve a car. I did this for an upcoming trip in December. Got a good rate with Alamo and went to check today to see if anything had changed price wise. The price was up and when I checked my reservation it was up too about $20. It said the taxes and fees had increased on it. I have never seen this happen. I always thought once you reserved that was the price.

We reserve through Costco and Alamo is usually the lowest which we like. I like to book ahead and then check it every now and then. So about a month ago I booked for December. A few weeks ago I checked and it was down $20 and when I went to the car I reserved that was also down $20 from what I booked it at. I didn't have to cancel it and rebook. Today when I checked on Costco it was back up $20 and so was the reservation price. It did say above that the taxes and fees had gone up and that was the reason given. In the past my reservations never changed so this must be something new that Costco is doing. I don't mine if it goes down but not happy to see it go up every time the price changes. Just wondering if it will keep going up and down on its own?

This didn't happen to my reservation, but when I returned my car on 8/18 to Alamo, the total he gave me was $15 lower than what was confirmed when I took the car from the airport on 8/10. When the charge hit my credit card a couple of day later, it was indeed the lower amount. That has NEVER happened before, but I did not complain :-)

I don't think you have to worry about the price changing again. I think Alamo had a glitch where the Florida surcharge was not added for a few days. Now that it is back, I think the taxes and fees should stay the same and your price won't change unless you modify it.

We rent cars fairly frequently and, until this time, our price has never changed unless I modified it.
