Hi Guys..

Can we use Alamo online check in from UK , I booked via holiday autos and not direct does that make any difference

Just wondered as on the Alamo.com site it does say US licence only..?

I've been wondering about this too, but so far I had no luck with Citer (the company who represent/own Alamo in europe and whom I've phoned on several occasions re: my rentals in the US)

AFAIK only virgin customers who rent their car through Alamo as part of a package are able to check in online. There is a special page for Virgin customers check in and it requires a special number provided by virgin

If your TA does not have this agreement with Alamo, you can't register online unless you have a US or CA driver license

check with your TA, you may be eligible for online check in with Alamo, you never know, it costs nothing to ask

Is it the "save time" option from Alamo ? Because this is available to everyone, but still does require the customer to go to the desk

Does you email state that you can go directly to the garage or is it just a pre-registration as its name implies

Using the Alamo Kiosks for Express Pickup

Alamo Car Hire offer computerised kiosks in many key locations for your car hire collection. These can also be used for rentals with National Rent A Car. This is available in many Florida Car Rental locations as well as other larger car hire depots throughout the USA. These are also known as 'Choice' locations as they allow you to take your pick of car from the parking lot (unlike most other providers that allocate you a car without any input from you).

Using the kiosks is very easy and can save you a lot of time as you will not have to queue up at the desk.

In order to use the kiosks, after you have received your car rental voucher, you will need to register online for "Alamo Save Time". You can do this using the link below:

When you arrive at the car hire depot, do not enter the line at the desk. Instead, just go to one of the several kiosks that are available just in front of the Alamo car hire desk. The system is operated by way of a touch screen. Touch the screen to get started, and then simply follow the easy instructions.

You will be prompted for your Alamo reservation number, details of additional drivers and offered various optional extras. The beauty of using the car rental kiosk is that you can decline any optional extras without pressure from a member of staff. Optional extras are items such as GPS, car upgrades and enhanced roadside assistance.

Once you have completed the process, your rental agreement documents will be printed. Take your documents across to the parking lot and choose any hire car you like the look of from those in the category you have booked. Each car will have a set of keys in the driver's side door, so pick the car you like, jump in and drive off!
