I thought these two companies are sort of the same--even puling cars from the same lot for renters. Yet on my rental dates I can reserve an 8 passenger or 7 passenger minivan from Alamo and only the 7 passenger minivan from National. Is this weird? The 8 passenger van is really preferable for us, so I've got the ressie with Alamo. Can anyone comment on just how "joined" these rental companies are? Does anyone think we're at risk of there not being an 8 passenger minivan when we arrive?

From what I understand, Alamo & National are owned by the same parent company, but are 2 separate rental agencies - each with it's own rental desks and garage areas, including car inventory, at MCO. They do, however, share a desk at the Dolphin. So what Alamo may have for minivans doesn't necessarily mean National will have the same. Also Alamo is geared more for leisure travel vs. National for the business customer.

HTH!!! :teeth:
