Alamo & National questions

We will be staying at SSR checking in on Sunday afternoon. Picking up the car at MCO is crazy expensive so we were going to take DME to SSR and then I have looked at picking up at CCC or Dolphin and returning to Dolphin the following Sunday when we move to Boardwalk.

I have read on the boards that Alamo will pick you up at your resort and take you to CCC. Does National do the same thing? Or what would be the quickest and easiest way to get from SSR to Dolphin to pick up the car there? I actually have the better rate from National so figured I would stick with that.

Thanks for any info!

The quickest and easiest way to get from SSR to the Dolphin is by cab. The fare shouldn't be that much and it may be worth it to save the time you are going to need to take Disney transport.

If you want to stick to using Disney transportation, you can take a bus to DHS and walk to the Dolphin. Or you could walk to DTD from SSR and take a bus to either the Boardwalk or Beach Club and walk from there.

National and Alamo are (technically) the same company - so the shuttle that picks up Alamo customers also picks up National customers. Both company names are on the shuttle.

If you choose to rent at the Dolphin and get there by walking from SSR to DTD, you can just board a bus that goes to the Dolphin and Swan - no need to take a bus to a different resort or a park and then walk.

Thank you for the replies! I thought they were the same. Do you call when you are at your resort to arrange the shuttle or can I arrange that in advance if I go to CCC? I am kind of thinking that might be the easier way since we have to stop and drop off our luggage. Are they both open until 4pm?

Thanks again!

Sorry, completely forgot that there are buses direct to the Swan/Dolphin. They typically share with Yacht & Beach and Boardwalk.
When I used the CCC center a few years ago, I called the day before to make arrangements for pickup.
Here are the CCC hours for National/Alamo
Hours:
Sun: 06:00 am 06:00 pm
Mon-Fri: 06:00 am 08:00 pm
Sat: 06:00 am 06:00 pm

Looks like the Dolphin National/Alamo is 8 am to 4 pm daily.

You can also rent at the Buena Vista Palace. There is an Alamo/National counter there and it is right across the street from SSR. Just walk towards Downtown Disney and cross the street at the security gate near Congress Park (or take the DD bus if you don't want to walk) and cross the street. Much easier and closer than the CCC or Dolphin.

OH wow! I did not even think of that! Thank you, I just changed to picking up there!! We will check in and just walk on over!! It was a couple dollars more but you pay for convenience!!! :goodvibes

I just checked my dates and the rates are exactly the same to rent at the airport or at the CCC. It is a whopping $694.12 before all the fees and taxes for 8 days (7 passenger minivan). I dont think so!!! We always use Alamo or National, but I booked the same dates and car for $317 with all the fees and taxes. That is a huge difference. I cannot justify the Alamo rate.

I'm not sure about these hours. They don't "jive" with what I'm showing on the confirmation I received from Alamo for my reservation. My reservation shows that the hours are 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for Monday - Friday and 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for Saturday and Sunday. Of course, the hours you are quoting may be "summer" hours and mine could be "fall" hours. But just wanted to point out that the Car Care Center may not be open as late as you're stating.
