Hi

We are traveling mid May and there is about $100 difference between midsize and standard/fullsize. I want to save the money and go with the mid size but I'm a little leary since we could end up with a 2 door. Anyone been lately to notice what car types there are and the ratio of 2 to 4 door choices?

Thanks!

Why don't you use a one or two car class upgrade coupon to get that standard/full size?

You right, but right now for alamo I'm also using a coupon. It's only $20 so it maybe worth it to give up the $20 off... I know they say National you can stack the coupons, but I've never had any luck with that.

Alamo usually has a good selection of cars to pick from, so getting a mid size 4 door shouldn't be an issue. Though if you want to be sure, I would give up the $20 savings and go for the upgrade.

You should join National Emerald Club (free through the Mousesavers website). Then, you reserve a midsize (with whatever coupons you have) and you pick from the "Emerald Aisle". You are guaranteed a midsize but they often have fullsize there too. Most of the midsize cars have 4 doors. Then, the choice is up to you.
