Alamo Kiosk in Orlando anyone try it yet?

Here's my Alamo kiosk experience. Last Jan I had rented a car, through Alamo, for pickup at MCO. So, we returned to MCO to get our car. I headed to Alamo, while dh went off to find dd who we were supposed to be picking up. The line at Alamo was horrendous. Several of us noticed the kiosks over to the side and were wondering who could use them. But none of us wanted to lose our place in line to try it out or to screw up our reservations. So, we stayed in line, while the kiosks remained unused. Well....after about a 25 min wait, a Alamo rep came up to us (at this point we were at the front of the line) and asked if anyone had online booking reservations. Some of us said yes, so she sent us over to the kiosk. For most it seemed to work just fine. For me, not so much. After putting my cc in it and keying in my driver's license number it told me the names/numbers weren't a match. I called the rep over, she redid it, still the same result. Had to go to the counter. I think that I had an issue because I used a debit card rather than a credit card. At least that's the only reason they could come up with.
So..use a credit card. I didn't see anyone else having an issue with the kiosks..they just went up to them, entered their info, and about 4 mins later went off to the parking lot to get their cars.

They were there in December for our trip. We were already in line when a spouse of someone behind us noticed them and took the info from this person, came back and said it was very quick and easy...so we left the line and tried it ourselves....super quick! Walk out to the garage with the paperwork, hop in the car, drive to the window, hand over the paperwork and off you go! We leave for WDW on Saturday and plan to use them again. :thumbsup2

We were directed right to them in March, no problems at all and we had a coupon and used a DEBIT CARD to rent. You just answer the questions and type in your Confirmation number (be sure and have it with you). They ask you the same questions as an employee would, do you want their insurance, do you want to prepay gas, do you want to rent a GPS, etc.It prints you out a paper and then you just head to the garage to pick up your car. You will have to give all the information to the attedant, including your debit or credit card as you leave the garage. It was simple and a lot less time consuming than waiting for an attendant to get to you.

This is great news. It nice to see that they had a problem (with long waits at the counter) and they took a positive approach to the problem and fixed it. I'm booked at National next week, but will keep this in mind if I used Alamo in the future.

Lucky you!!!! I was told that since I had used my debit card I had to show them proof of return....and of course, since I was returning to the Swan, I had left all our stuff there, to be picked up when we drove by. So, I had to go to SW where they had a dickens of a time getting me what I needed to show the girl at the Alamo counter to prove I had a flight home.
The only thing we had to give the attendent was our actual car rental paperwork..no cc or debit card went to him, but that could have been because I had already done all that at the counter. Man, I sure learned a lesson that day!!!!
