alamo/kiosk check-in/free addt'l driver

Has anyone ever used the alamo self check-in kiosks when using a code that gives a free additional driver? I'm hoping to do that on Saturday. I've done the "save time" part on the alamo website where you enter your license info. We're using a Walmart code that provides a free additional driver. There's a part in the "save time" section to add the additional driver.

The reservation confirmation clearly states "free additional driver included" up at the top. It says that even before i enter any personal info. Once I add my husband and then myself as the "additional", it says $9.99/day by the additional driver but then the total out to the side says $0.

I'd rather not be allowed to drive the car than wait in the long Alamo line just to get me added on correctly. What do you think my chances are w/the kiosk?

Hi there. I did this exact thing at the kiosk in June 09. There will be an Alamo worker there helping with transactions, Have them help you. The add. driver must be present and show valid drivers license. Good luck

I guess I'll just play it by ear. I checked in at the kiosk in May 2009. Didn't have a code for an extra driver though so it wasn't a big deal. There definitely wasn't an Alamo rep standing around. Maybe a good thing for me since my husband was the primary driver and I was the one doing the checking in! He was waiting on the luggage. I did have his license with me though. Oh well, I think I'm trying to over plan

Hmm, that's interesting. We used a Walmart code too with free add. driver and we're planning on checking in at the kiosk. The reason I wanted to skip the line is that I read on mousesavers that some people have had problems ay MCO using the Walmart codes and wanted to skip any hassle, since it's a legit code. I did print out that page from Walmarts site just incase of a problem. Hopefully more people who've used this can weigh in.

We've used the Kiosks twice with the Walmart free additional driver code & had no problem. My wife goes to the Kiosk while I go to Baggage claim and we've never had a problem. Just enter both drivers info on the website and you'll be good to go.

We have used the "save time" option for the free second driver 2 times and both times the second driver had to enter their info into the kiosk. It was free and we did not have to wait in line, but the save time thing didn't work.

Only one person needs to check in at the kiosk. You need to provide both drivers licenses when you exit the garage with the car at the booth.

Use SaveTime, check in at the kiosk, then get your car and leave. Their info should already be in the system when you check in at the kiosk. It is really rather simple. I try to hurry and get the kiosk done before the Alamo person helping comes along, I can get by much faster without them.

We used the Walmart code plus a coupon this past Aug. and did everything at the kiosk. We did the time saver info before we left and put in both driver's information. We went to the kiosk at the airport and then went to pick out the car. We were never even asked for any additional information when leaving the lot - all we had to do was show the receipt from the kiosk.

The kiosk didn't save us any time. We entered all the information and when we entered our credit card info the screen froze. One of us remained at the kiosk while another had to wait in line to get to the counter. The counter service person told us that we could leave the kiosk screen because our info should clear but I refused and had a family member wait there until it cleared completely...took over minutes to clear!
