Alamo-Insiders pre 5/12/14=Free Addit Driver?

Most Insiders received the email from Alamo indicating that the 'free' additional driver perk would disappear in early June.

not quite, at least for those Insiders who enrolled prior to May 12, 2014!

Update:Alamo no longer waives the additional driver fee for Alamo Insiders Members who enrolled after May 11, 2014. But if you enrolled May 11, 2014 or earlier can still add another driver for free.

Not sure if the additional driver must be added at the counter to escape the surcharge for those who qualify (enrolled by 5/11/14) or there is a way to input it online or @ garage kiosk when driving out.

I don't have a current reservation with Alamo, but if I do use them, will print out a copy of the agreement from the link below to have as ammunition.

here's the direct link to Alamo's updated terms & conditions for those who enrolled in Insiders pre 5/12/14. It clearly states that the additional driver is free in Section C-2, see below.

I think the only way to probably guaranty that you get the additional driver for free is to use the Insiders Code associated with the program pre-May 2014. Trying to add it at the counter using a different code may be a challenge now given that they have discontinued it for new Insiders members.

imo the insider's rate has been the best legit code I'm qualified to use since their revamp anyway.

I have a reservation I booked after the change with just the normal Insider code that it defaults to when you log in. That reservation says it includes an additional driver. If I try to make a reservation using a different discount code it takes away the additional driver. So far the Insider code gives me the same discount so I plan to use that to keep the additional driver.

Alamo has made it very confusing though!

I was. I am going to print out the fine print to bring with me just in case. My reservation isn't until September so I will see how it goes.
