please tell me about renting with alamo...location at mco, ease of rental, etc. i just started comparing and its $100 cheaper than national for my dates sept 30- oct 8. i just used coupon and id codes from my ent book...is there any better deals out there?? i saw the alamo thread but it was a little intimidating!! i joined emerald club last year...do they have a similar program?? fyi we are renting a standard suv. thanks!!!

YES, Alamo has QUICK SILVER. We just rented from ALAMO in Feb 2006! We had great rates and great service from ALAMO. I went to MOUSESAVERS.com to get all the rates POSSIBLE to use and I used all of them until I got the best deal for me. I found also at MCO they had a fabulous collection of automobiles. I rented "premium"! Go ahead and sign up for QUICK SILVER. They will send you a # like immediately and then you can use that on the rental sheet online. You will then receive a card/packet in the mail. In the event the packet does not arrive via mail...just have with you printed off from your computer your # that Alamo/QUICK SILVER assigned you.

Lately, good reviews have been coming in from Alamo. Like another poster said, there program is the Quick Silver program which allows you to bypass the regular line and go to a special desk inside the parking garage. Even better, Alamo introduced an Online Check In program which allows you to skip the lines totally and preregister online. As far as service, ive never had a problem and the vehicles are pooled together with National (They are owned by the same company) so essentially, your getting the same vehicle as a national customer. At many smaller locations, there is no distinction between Alamo and national, they opperate under the simple Alamo/National name....Hope this helps
