Alamo fast break

Can anyone tell me how Alamo fast breaks works. I have a minivan rented thru costco travel and would love to skip the counter line. I have know idea how it works and my fear would be getting hit with fees that i get to incline at the counter.

You have to join their Insider program first. Then, once you've done that, you can do the actual checkin online. This allows you to go directly to the garage and choose your car.

Alamo's program is Alamo Insider. (Budget is Fast break). The Costco confirmation also lists an Alamo confirmation number, you use that to check in ahead of time on the Alamo site, giving them your driver license number. You can add info for a free 2nd driver also. You add your credit card info but it does not charge you until you return the rental. There are no extra fees when you checkin online! I think you probably already declined many extra things when you booked through Costco. Once you are checked in, there is a separate link to skip the counter. They will give you a bar code, I usually print it but you may be to show it on your phone when you leave the garage.

Georgina has it nailed above - very simple to "check in". I just set a reminder to do it the day before a trip, and it can save a LOT of time at the airport. Last trip we went with my sister and her family - they took 35 minutes to do the counter after a late arriving flight when there was only one agent working. I was to baggage claim and driving out of the rental garage about 15 minutes after our plane door opened. Simple.

And if anything, there's less pressure to add things on when you check in online.
