Alamo dropped rates on Minivans

OK...I've got the entertainment book $25 coupon, Wal-Mart codes, as well as some other codes that I have seen here and on Mary's site. Is there anything out there that will bring the minivan/SUV lower than the $140+ range?

Hi:
I have a mini van booked through Dollar, but the rates you guys are getting look great. I went to the Alamo site, and used the ACG (I assume this is the American Casino Guide) ID and used the BY and then the coupon, but I am coming up with much, much higher rates. We are renting a van from 10/6-10/21. Are any of you getting the lower rates for this time period. If so, can you tell me what you are using for codes, etc. Thanks so much. I don't have an Entertainment Book, but it looks like some of you aren't used that coupon. Again, any help would be great.

I just got a minivan from 9/24-10/1 for $149.48 (total) through Alamo too! I used the ACG coupon (wish I had the Entertainment coupon for $25!) and Wal-mart ID#. Thanks for the tip!

Be careful. My understanding is that although Alamo website allows you to stack coupons/codes, many have reported being told they could not do this upon arrival. The ACG coupon even says it cannot be combined with any other offer. So, I would use either the ACG or the Walmart code, but not both to be safe.

Yesterday I could have gotten $167.47 for the ACG coupon for a 7 day minivan 9/17-9/24. Codes from the mousesavers coupon itself say: rate/product code BY, ID#641394, and coupon code DT9B. This was the lowest I had ever seen this code, perhaps since it was only a few days away from my trip. I had previously booked with same code in August for $199.78.

Now, I'm using the entertainment coupon code, but I am a member and printed the coupon directly off the entertainment website, which yesterday I was able to get for $138.26. Maybe I should check the price again today? ha ha. We need the minivan on saturday, so again, it might be cheaper due to last minute sales.

I'm ok if I follow the Entertainment coupon to the letter, right? I get the same rate by doing that....

You should be. That is what I did. Used all the codes right off the coupon.

You guys are the best. I thought I had a great rate w/ Dollar for 197 using the MAG code but I checked out Alamo and after playing around w/ all the codes I got a rate of $144.67. I went to Hot deals and clicked on the $15 off coupon, then put in the Walmart codes: Rate code BY and ID# 430710. My dates are 9/21-9/25. Thanks again

I just booked a Mid size SUV for 139.69 for our 12/4-12/9 stay. An intermdiate car at Dollar was nearly $226.00.
I booked a town car service too, but at $139.69 I'm seriously thinking of renting a car. I've only rented a car once before, and hardly used it, but I'd like to go to other resortst this stay for some of our meals and this may be a good way to go.

Silly question here ..... I went to the entertainment books website and found the travel discounts for Alamo and Avis. Now, how do I print the coupons and get the codes?

Hmm. Well, maybe you didn't go far enough into the process because the ent sight brings you to a page where it says to print the coupon.

Any way that you could send me the link because I must be blind I can't see it.

I'm having trouble getting anything near the rates I'm seeing on this thread. I tried the Walmart code from Mousesavers and it gave me a rate of $301.74/wk for 10/29-11/5. Is it my dates are am I doing something wrong? Thanks! :)

Can someone please tell me how you are getting these rates?? I have the entertainment book and in the ID/corp it automatically filled in the number 7011339 in the rate I put in the code QVW and in the coupon it again automatically put in the D24C. I am trying to book for nine days Nov.25-Dec. 4. I clicked on the minivan and it is giving me a rate of $586.24 :faint: I am sure I am doing something wrong, but just cannot figure out what it is. :confused3 Can someone please help me???? I am using the Alamo site.
I am not very computer savvy so I will probably need detailed instructions. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Vickie,
I think your dates are just too far away. I tried too for Nov 5-13 and the rates were high. I tried the dates that people posted above and was able to get good rates (just to convince myself I wasn't doing anything wrong.) Keep trying as you get closer.
(BTW, I'm a Vicki too!)

Thanks Vicki, guess I will have to keep checking. I am thinking that with a car rental being that high and the cost of airline tickets, we might be better off to drive. I just hated the thought of driving for just the two of us this time. Luckily I have a bit of time before I have to decide.
Have a great day!!

I must be doing something wrong. I need a full size SUV for 11/30 - 12/10 and I'm getting a rate of over $550. :guilty: I guess I'll stick w/National. I got a rate of $435 there. Still high but better than $585.
