Hi,
I would check with Alamo on this combination. They generally will not allow a mix of codes and coupons. The site accepts it, but, when you check in they will not allow it. Read the bottom of the coupon and that is what they will give you for the reason for not accepting it.

We used the Walmart code last time, and a Alamo online coupon also with no problem.
I don't anticipate a problem this time around either. While they did ask for the coupon, that was it.
Good Luck to all that took the heads up! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update on this. I have never tried it as I was told it, on many occasions, would be rejected.
So, who are you actually going to rent from? Alamo or National?

I cancelled a Dollar reservation and went with Alamo for our trip 8/19-8/28. I saved $13 on a mid-size SUV ($292 total for 9 days including tax with Alamo over Dollar - used Alamo's last minute rates and a $20 coupon). I prefer Alamo because we can choose our vehicle from Alamo or National in the garage. I was hoping rates would drop because they have been very high lately.

Hi guys. I'm confused here. Can anyone use the Walmart code you posted?

Thanks for the info.

gottaluv....the competition!

I've been watching rates fall on Orbitz and went from Hertz (offsite) to Dollar to Thrifty and now Alamo (yep I cancel the previous deals).....on your rec!

Aug 25-Sept 11, 17 days for $243.83 inclusive! Plus, I have an upgrade coupon, so I should go from the compact to midsize, right? Now what is this about being able to pick the car from Nationals side too....does that mean if I have midsize I can use my Emerald Isle??????

So....$15 a day taxes included. Sounds good to me!

yes, it's a general code unlike sams would be a private code. there are tons of codes on mousesavers that you can try. I've had good luck with the walmart code.

BTW: I have used the walmart code and coupon with my February rental and my April/May rental and had no problems at all. My daughter used both also in May and also had no problems. Now only if I could get a good rate for October.

Hi guys...
I just looked again today and the rates dropped again since I posted this. I was able to get my clients a midsize for 6 days $107 w/ all tax & fees. (I'm a travel agent)
they do have a bjs membership... I used the bjs id, with F55B (one free day coupon).

I just love saving $$.. Even when its not mine

The upgrade will depend on if you already used a different coupon to get your rate. If you used a dollar off coupon to get your rate, then you cannot use the upgrade.
Alamo and National are marked. I feel pretty sure you can select a car from either in your class size. No, you cannot use the Emerald Aisle unless you are renting through Natinal.
Yes, 15.00 per day is a great rate.

RE: codes and coupons. Thanks for the info, it is nice to hear that you can do that.

Thank You GUYS!!! I just used the Walmart code and an upgrade coupon from the entertainment book, and got a full size for 168.57 for 10 days!!!!

It was 155 if I used a different discount for a midsize.

Thank you guys so much!!
