Alamo Code 7011111 Rejected

Last night at MCO. This is definitely not an AMEX or public use code. It requires special travel agent identification. You cannot use online check in with it or the kiosk.....The agent checking you in will receive a message on their screen.

Yes...We did.

I posted here this week that the code was no longer able to be applied on ressies when trying to make them online.

I think the inability to utilize the code was an indication that this code was not for the public.... and that they would not be accepting it as such.

So when you make the back up reservations....don't you get charged or anything if you don't pick it up? Say your code went through, what happens to your back up?

I cancelled the back up ressie. No charge with my ressie but I'm sure differerent companies have different policies. Honestly, this is the first time I ever had a back up resie.

But if the code had gone through, how would it have worked with the backup reservation? Sorry, just trying to understand how the whole thing works! It has been a long time since we have rented a car...and like you said, its way different now!

My back up ressie was also with Alamo so I would have cancelled the ressie not being used at the counter. You can also call to cancel.

My advice is to only utilize codes that are posted on reputable sites like Mousesavers. Then you will have no need for back up ressies. I've read this same advice time and time again, but still thought this 7011111 code may have been for public use, but it is not.
