Has anyone hired a car from Sanford with Alamo and dropped it off at the Dolphin? :drive:

Im planning on doing this in May and I have a good rate but having read the terms and conditions it mentions additional drop of charges and airport charges? :confused3

Can anyone who has done this let me know if you had additional charges to pay? I dont want to book it and think its a good price and then I get there to be faced with a nice bill. :scared1:

Thanks

There usually is for one way hires Laura.

I cant speak for Alamo (or the US for that matter) but I looked into hiring a car for a day to drive down to Manchester aiport when we're heading to Florida. They quoted me £22 to hire the car - and £135 minimum for
the one-way part of it (would increase depending on the category of vehicle).

Id imagine all hire companies do it, but I think their charges vary.

Can't speka for Alamo, but the majority of the car hire firms in Florida are fine with one way drop offs. We have done it with Dollar several times and no charges or problems at all.

We did a one-way rental from Washington DC to Orlando in 2005. We were supposed to pay around $300 extra (according to the website), but it didn't happen. It's a local charge (i.e. at pick-up - you don't pay that element in advance), but because it wasn't quoted on the paperwork, he said he wouldn't charge it. :confused3

Thanks everyone, ive tried changing the drop of on the website and the price stays the same its just when you read the terms and conditions!

I might try phoning the alamo desk at the airport and ask!

Thanks
