We've used Alamo the past few trips to WDW and have been very satisfied with the service and cars. I typically book a compact and use a double upgrade coupon and then select from the full size aisle since there is no midsize aisle at MCO. This trip we're flying into Sanford though. Can anyone give me a heads up on if SFB's Alamo location has midsize cars or what is the best way to spend as little as possible for a full size car or bigger? I really appreciate the help!

If you would suggest another car rental company at SFB, which would you suggest?

We're going July 22, 2012, picking up at 12:30 and returning August 2, 2012, around 7 AM. The cheapest I've found is $430 using Hotwire prepaying. I'm hoping that rates will drop soon.

I was very lucky with Avis in Sanford! I booked it through rentalcarmomma.com about 3 weeks ago. From March 10th at 8:00 pm to March 23 rd at 7 am. It was for a midsize, I got it for $303.00 plus I have a coupon for one day free rental that is supposed to come off when I pick up the car. Since I have booked them, they went up to almost $700.00 and haven't came back down! I keep looking, but I don't think I will find much better then that. This is the first time we are flying into Sanford as well!

Thanks. We have rented with Avis in the past.

Anyone else know about companies at Sanford that allow you to choose your own car?

I think you may be mistaken. Alamo at MCO most certainly does have a midsize row, it, however, does not have a Standard row. I walk by the midsize row 5 days a week. :)
As to Sanford, I know they have a midsize row also, but, not sure about the Standard row.
The best way is to use your double upgrade coupon. Read the coupon and see what the requirements and restrictions are.
As to suggesting another car company, sorry, but, I cannot.

We too flew into Sanford about 3 years ago (We love Allegiant and have a non-stop flight from our small hometown airport). We rented a van from Alamo and didn't pay but $150 for the week:thumbsup2.
We are planning our trip now for June, and after checking around on rental care prices, I think it is going to be cheaper for the 7 of us to split a limo or shuttle. Now, with that being said, we don't use the rental at all while we are at Disney, and because there are 7 of us we would have to rent 2 cars, so this could possibly work well for us.
