I was poking around the Alamo site, checking rates, using my passholder contract ID, my costco membership ID, a few coupon codes and then I tried to use the often used AS1 product code. I have successfully made a reservation using this code but this time, an error came up and it would not give me a rate using the AS1 no matter what coupon or contract ID I was using. Just a heads up. I would be concerned trying to use a ressie that was made using the ASI.

Apparently the system isn't wanting to accept that AS1 anymore.

Pricing a reservation sing AS1 as Code has been producing error message for some time

"Please enter a valid product code"

I made a reservation an hr ago for dec 1-10 2016.. im booking from Canada may be thats why. only time i get that error is if im booking for 2017.

Very Interesting............I live in NJ............ But I just went on the Canada Alamo web site a few minutes ago and just for the heck of it I plugged in my dates........October 19th - October 29th. Put in a coupon code , contract code Disney Passholder and the AS1 product code............and a prices came up. I booked a fullsize car for $201.30 also came up with a Canadian Price.

I'm hoping I won't have any issues when leaving the garage.

Even though I'm not going until October can I online check in now and still cancel it if need be or is it once you online check in they charge your credit card.

Another weird thing now is when plugging in on the same codes it now says the product code AS1 is invalid.......Not sure if I clear my cookies would correct that issue.

So are Us Citizens allow to book car rentals on the Canada Alamo website or is that not allowed?

I still might make a safe rental on the US site just incase I have trouble with this reservation on the 19th of October at MCO.

Edit: I also just went in an looked at the reservation, I can modify the car and get a Premium Class for $246. Just not sure if I should do that or not? Anyone know what cars are in the Premium Aisle at MCO? Might well be worth the extra $45.

Good find

Yes, was able to go to the Ca site and book via the code.

Able to add corp ID & coupon to lower it to within $10 more of my res I booked in May.

No idea if the res will be honored, a backup would likely be a good idea.

Decided this morning to go ahead and modify to the Premium Class car, still showed the price at $246 but after clicking on it to book it price went up to $275, Large car was still at the same $201 price. So for now I have two bookings, one for the Premium at $275 and another reservation for the large car at $201...............Pretty sure both will go down since I'm still 2 months out.

I still have time to keep checking and checking and checking...............

No luck. Just tried AS1 on US and Canada Alamo sites. Both came up with "Please enter a valid product code". :confused3

So has anyone actually called and spoken to Alamo about the AS1 product code.......and if not, not why?
If it's a legitimate code intended for all to use, shouldn't we be able to call Alamo and openly discuss this?

Calling does nothing IMO but flag a possibly marginal code

If you really want an answer, why not email them so you have a written response in hand if you need to argue your case re a reservation.

I used the as1 code for my past trip and even called customer service to ask after I booked if everything was OK with my reservation. Bottom line, I did skip the counter and did not have any problem with my reservation. Even though I was using the expired 50$ coupon at the time. Lady at the booth adjusted it without saying anything to me.

It just seems this code has been floating around for years on the internet but no one knows its origins and if it is legitimate for anyone's use. I guess I'm too risk averse and wouldn't want to take a risk in the event of a wreck.

Please explain what you mean with the lady adjusted it at the booth.

I just checked in online last week on the night of the 11th and picked up the car on the 12th. All I do is check in online, never go to the kiosk at all.........plane lands, get bags and go directly to the parking lot, find my aisle, pick the car. Drive up to the booth, had them my print out, DL and credit card........All they ask is if you want insurance, I say no. End of conversation, she hands me the contract, my DL and credit card and off we go out of the parking garage. Granted I didn't use the AS1 code on this reservation, this was a short trip.

So just what did the person in the booth say to you?

Confused by " adjusted it"

Oh I was just talking about the expired coupon I used previously. They honored that. So AS1 code should be good for everyone. :yay::yay:
