alamo amex codes

I have a question about an alamo code....

I get the best rate when I use the amex code 7013604 combined with the coupon - but, I don't have an amex card....will they be stringent on the fact that I will need to pay with the amex? if so, I will cancel my reservation, no problems, but if they are not, then I will keep this one.
Any advice?

You will have to pay with an Amex credit card. That's why they give 15% off so that they can get your business on their cards and maybe make a little in interest.
