Alamo 8-passenger mini-vans - questions

We will have 8 people traveling for our April trip. I can get a decent price with Alamo and the SUNPROMO code will let me actually choose an 8-passenger minivan. My questions are:

1. It says "Toyota Sienna or equivalent"....any experience with what kinds are on the lot?

2. Will 8 of us with luggage really fit...or should I be looking to rent one of the 12-passenger vans? We will probably have 8 pieces of luggage along with a few personal item carry-ons (tote bag or two).

Any opinions...??

We rented an 8 passenger van from Alamo for our Thanksgiving trip last year. We had 4 adults and 4 kids (from 3 separate families) and I had the same concern as you - will we fit all of our stuff? We were able to fit all of our gear without a problem. All of the available vans were Siennas - our only choice was what color to pick. The "trunk" space was suprisingly large. While we were there, we had to drive around a motorized wheelchair - it fit without a problem. And the Sienna van drove really well - I was very happy that we chose that option over the 12 passenger van.

How do you get the 8 passenger van? That is exactly what I need but it only gives me the option of 7 passenger. Where are you picking up? Do you think I can get it by calling?

Sometimes it depends on the Corporate code that you are using. I know if you use the code SUNPROMO (from the Alamo's Hot Deals section) the 8 seater minivans is an option.

Are you renting the minivan from MCO or from somewhere on the Disney property (ie Dolphin hotel)?

I'm renting from Tampa and using SUNPROMO was the only code I found where the 8-passenger came up.

Is that code only available in Florida? We will be leaving from OH. I have a 7 passenger van rented with the great code found on here from Budget, but would love to see the rate for the 8 passenger.

I believe it's only available for Hawaii, California, Las Vegas and Florida.
