boy, am i glad that i waited a few weeks to buy tickets from SEA to LGB! i was going to book at $104 each way...now it's on sale for $74 one way!!!!! :cool1: for DH, DD2, and me, i saved almost $200 by waiting! i guess sometimes, it's good to not be in such a rush to buy tickets! :thumbsup2

here are the details for the tickets on sale:
Purchase tickets by November 24, 2008. Travel must be completed between December 3, 2008, and March 11, 2009. Black out dates are December 19-20 and 27-28, 2008, and February 13-14, 16, and 21-22, 2009.

First I was going to say AUUUUGH, but I just called and they gave me a (whopping) $5 credit for each of us! :goodvibes

The question is though...does Virgin America (our flight south) have the same policy, since that flight went down by the same amount!

I booked in September for $79 each way, from Seattle to LGB. When a friend went to find flights during the same travel time, they were WAY more. Sounds like they are back down again!

Good shopping!

We have always been able to get a credit from AA if the rates go down after we have booked and have been able to do so approx. five times. :cool1:

sweet, tix have gone down $300 from when I was first looking to buy them. Now the $1595 for the 5 of us only costs $1095.

Alaska will only give you the refund if it is within 90 days of when you purchased your ticket -- missed by one week getting $30 back each for three tickets -- sigh! :sad1:

I really can't be too unhappy since I am still going to DL!

Yep, that's what they told me last night, that it has to be within 3 months of purchase.

And the answer from Virgin America (if anyone is interested) was a resounding NO. They do not participate in such a "program", but you can cancel or change tickets within 24 hours of booking the ticket.

I tried so hard to not look at ticket prices after booking, but this post made me look! :)

Oh man!! We havent booked yet and after reading this post I jumped over to the Alaska Airlines site immediately and of course... its travelling through the 11th of March. We leave on the 14th. :sad1: Depression is setting in.

yeah, i think the "sale" prices end right before the start of the 1st weekend of spring break. we're going 3/5/09 to 3/8/09...wooo-hooo! so excited!

some airlines unfortunately do not give credit if the fare drops. hawaiian airlines only gives you credit if the fare drops more than a $100...because they CHARGE you a $100 to "change" the ticket. so if the ticket only drops $50, you'd have to pay $100 to get that $50 back. crazy, huh?! on the other hand, if the fare drops $120, then you only get $20 back because you have to pay the $100 change fee.

I was really surprised to find out, just last week, that Alaska gave credit back! Since I thought that they didn't but they did, I tried VA but alas, I guess having the "mood lighting" on the airplanes keeps them from giving credit, LOL.

I was even surprised that Jet Blue gives credit...I really thought, until I found out about JB, that Southwest was the ONLY one out there that did it!

I usually fly Alaska Airlines. It has been my preferred airline for over 20 years. But this trip we decided to try JetBlue. Their schedule in and out of Long Beach is just better and it was the same price as Alaska.

We started out at $99 each way. Then it dropped to $74. I called and got a $200 credit.

I checked again today after seeing this thread and now our flights are $69 each way! I called again, and got another $40 credit.

I must say I am impressed with JetBlue. Their customer service is awesome.:lovestruc

$69 each way from Seattle to Long Beach is unbelievable! DH said we cannot afford NOT to go! He is so silly! :rotfl2:

Wow. So how does one get from Long Beach to Disneyland?
(OK, OK. Off to research it myself. ;) )

Very cool! isn't it great with our DHs agree that we must go to DL! haha!

Wow- those are some great deals!

Why is it always much more to fly out of PDX than SeaTac? It's almost worth driving to my hometown of Seattle from Portland to save $, especially since gas is only $2.09/gallon!

Alaska gave me a 225 dollar credit when I called this last week...which was actually 5 dollars more per person than the price change but I dont mind :)

Airfare is so cheap right now DH is BEGGING to add another trip next year :)
