On Friday at MK, I noticed that Aladdin's Magic Carpets was "closed for refurbishment"...It had the big green wall all the way around it. What kind of rehab could a two year old ride like this need? Anyone?

Maybe thay are making it into something decent :)

Bad Cricket...bad bad Cricket

My kids like that ride. They will be sad that it is not open next week when we go down. I agree with Peter, hard to imagine it needs a rehab already.

Rehabs should be done every 1 to 2 years on most attractions. This tends to be preventive maintenance, the goal being to make sure that an attraction that is in good shape stays in good shape.

.... I thought all the cutbacks ended this practice ????

Note I said should be done, not are done. I chose my words carefully becuase what I suspect they are doing with Alladin has not be the norn for a long time. Cutbacks did end this practice to a great extent (especially at DL) in the last several years, but I will admit things seem to be getting better as of late. Hopefully this rehap is another sign of things improving.

I noticed it closed when I was there Sunday. The thought that went through my mind was that it doesn't seem like it's been open long enough to need a re-hab. Unless they found something wrong with it.

When we were there in July it looked like it could use a paint job. It seemed quite faded to me--must be that Florida sun.

I want to know who's brilliant idea it was to put 3 of the same kinds of ride in 2 in the same park? they need to come up with some orginal ideas this is getting absurd

Peter, as to your original question, we should ask Bretsyboo, as he is usually the most informed poster. He knows a lot more than I do.

JCTigger I agree with you. Sorry Peter, must be us rebels from Mass that take thread off the straight and narrow.
