Aladdin is ending?

Aladdin only plays on Friday thru Sunday
I am pretty sure it has been Thursday-Sunday for the last year or two.

What only shows fri-sun, what about the summer months(july and august)?
Before the economy hit the skids Aladdin showed Wed-Sun year round. I think DLR tried to save some money a year or two ago and cut out Wednesdays and so now it is Thurs-Sun. Even in summer.

See "What You Should Know About Off-Season at DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18462889

I go to Disneyland all the time and when I went to California Adventure like 2 weeks ago I went on a Wednesday to go see the Aladdin show. I noticed Hyperion wasnt open so I asked a cast member and thats when they told me that show only plays now Friday thru Sunday.

Not sure about the CM at DCA but the DCA schedule shows it is playing today (Thursday).

It is also playing tomorrow (Friday) but not on Sat-Sun this week. I saw another post here that Aladdin is dark this weekend for some special reason. Can't remember the reason. However, next weekend the DCA schedule shows it as Thursday-Sunday. :)

I love Aladdin and will miss it. Luckily I think we've seen it about 10 times so far. My DD10 has loved it since the first time she saw it. Apparently it was in early 2003 (see below from Wikipedia-notice closing date is shown). My DD would have been about 3-1/2 then. I remember worrying that she would have to go the restroom during the show and if you leave you can't get back in once the show starts.

Anyway, we have enjoyed it ever since that first time. Best memory for me is the times we sat down front (did this 4-5 times) and when the camels came by they would stop to let DD touch them. Made me swell up everytime! :sad2:

Here's info from Wikipedia
Facts about the Show

* Opening date: January 16, 2003
* Closing date: August 15, 2010
* Running time: Approximately 45 minutes
* Hyperion Theater Seating Capacity: 2,011
* Number of scene changes per show: 18
* Number of costume changes per show: 250
* Number of cast members per show: 28

We love the show so much that we bought the CD from it. Love all the music but the added song "To Be Free" is my favorite!

If you will be there before it leaves forever, make sure to see it-you won't be sorry.:wizard: I only hope TSM is as good.

In August just add it to the growing list of things no longer at DLR-recently added Tiana Showboat Jubilee (loved it!) and soon Electrical Parade. Of course if they never got rid of anything we wouldn't see anything new (or brought back to life like EO!:rotfl2:)

Aladdin is not playing this weekend because Jr. Cheer Nationals are going to be there. Saturday is for the youth teams and Sunday is for the middle school cheer teams. The reason I know is because I was apart of it last year and this year I am going as a spectator.

Save the cheerleader(s), save the world! Have fun!

If Aladdin is being replaced by the same Toy Story Musical that's being shown on DCL, I'll be bummed- IMHO TSMusical isn't near as good as Aladdin is...I'd rather see something from the WDW parks like Nemo or FOTLK or even any other DCL stage production! I was rather disappointed with Toy Story the Musical onboard the Wonder
