...according to MousePlanet today: http://www.mouseplanet.com/9367/Disneyland_Resort_Update#news2
Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular begins a construction-related hiatus starting September 7, as work to connect the two sections of Red Car Line tracks already constructed in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot leaves the theater inaccessible. The show will return on October 8.
Note that the DL website does not list Aladdin on the entertainment schedule in October.

One of the great ongoing questions. I wish Disney would just make an official announcement so we can all just stop wondering and know for sure. :confused3

i hope it re-opens!!! I'm taking a good friend of mine for a fun, stree-free weekend in mid October (she needs it badly!!) and I know she would love the Aladdin show!

I also that they would be casting for the show in mid october. So I'm not sure how it could return first, or why they would need to cast for the same show. It is really making me doubt that Aladdin is coming back.

oh please!! we're going oct 9th and it would be wonderful for it to be back, especially since TMM is closed!

I am hearing so many conflicted reports about this. Ugh. I wish we could get something concrete from Disney.

According to the official Disney Parks Blog, it is staying, but will need to close periodically to accomodate construction. As for recasting, this is perfectly normal, this show works on 6 month contracts and mid-October is about the time for new cast changes, so that they are fully up to speed by Thanksgiving for the busy season. Not everyone in the cast changes either, so please note that it will only be a partial recasting.

All of that being said, Labor Day is also the normal day for them to end shows in this theater and have a new one having a soft opening Thanksgiving weekend (every show, aside from the first one, inside this theater has done this, even the first show ended on Labor Day). I for one would not be surprised to have Disney say that Aladdin wil be coming back and then change the show before it has a chance to do so. Ding this would prevent the nightmares of crowd control that they have had for the final performances of previous shows at this theater.

it be great for skiingfast's sake if aladdin was playing while he was on his trip to DLR, as he was telling me how much he wants to see it!! :)
