Are they both similar to the Beauty and the Beast show at WDW?

There's two Aladdin shows--there's the storytime adventures in DL and honestly, I've never actually seen it, then there's the stage show in DCA, and it's awesome. Snow White is probably similar to B&the B at WDW, except for the fact that everyone has microphones instead of one or two performers. Also, Snow White is not performing for the next 9 months.

Ok, niehter one is anywhere near as bad as Beauty and the Beast at WDW, our dancers can actually dance, our singers can actuallly sing oh and Jasmine and Snow White are actually attractive (where as the Belle that I saw at Beauty and the Beast at WDW was anything but). We do not have presow entertainment like they do though.

Ok, basically these two shows are short version of Broadway Shows (with true Broadway Quality delivered).

In Aladdin: Virtually are performers are from Broadway, except the really new ones, although they are going to be big on Broadway I am sure and this was a really lucky break for them. (We have had several that were on TV and in major musical groups perform in this show over it's run as well)

I am not quite as sure where all of the Snow White people came from, I know some were on TV and such before hand.

Basically in California we can get real performers that can do a much better job, so is it like Beauty and the Beast? No, much better in my opinion.

Also in both shows there are no masked characters or pre-recorded voices (except the ensemble does get mixed with a prerecorded soundtrack to make it sound like more people, but they are really singing, not lipsyncing like in Beauty and the Beast the ensemble does), they are all done with makeup.

In other words these shows have been a step up even from the Beauty and the Beast show and Animazment that we have had here (both odf which were also much better).

And yes I did see the Beauty and the Beast show at WDW once and that is all I needed to see it, I was shocked that Disney would do anything with that low of quality.

Did DL ever show both shows at the same time?

I would say the major difference between the Aladdin and Snow White shows versus the Beauty and the Beast show is that although all stories were shortened the California shows make sense, everything flows together and they are shows anyone could see without previously seeing their movie counterparts whereas the Beauty and the Beast show at MGM just took highlights from the movie and would not have made any sense to someone who had never seen the movie.

Overall I think the Aladdin show is spectacular and a complete must see, Snow White is also very well done especially how the ampitheater was set up to feel like you are in a forest, and the Beauty and the Beast show was overall dissapointing.

I would recommend when in Florida to try the Princess Story telling by Cinderella's Castle to watch Belle tell her own story, she uses kids and one adult (as the beast) from the audience to help her (mine was Mrs. Potts, so cute!) this was much more fun way to see the story acted out...

In California our shows are a must see!

Aladdin is shown in California Adventures at the Hyperion Theatre and Snow White is shown in Disneyland in the Fantasyland Theatre.

I believe Snow White has now gone on Hiatus to return next year, but I am not 100% positive about that...

I agree with the other posters-I was so disapointed when I saw Beauty and the Beast at WDW! I had been expecting all these great shows, there and most of them just weren't that good. Aladdin at DCA is a must see! It is like going to a real Broadway show. I would compare it to seeing the Lion King on Broadway, except shorter. Also, the show is 40 minutes long, which is longer than any of the other shows in the parks. You need to get there ahead of time because they will not let you in last minute. Snow White is also well done, although not as good as Aladdin. It is a shorter show in an outdoor amphitheater. You feel like you're in the forest, though, with Snow White and it is really magical for the kids! :)

I too was disappointed in B & B at MGM Studios but probably because I saw the original production (pre Broadway) at Disneyland. If you haven't seen the Disneyland version, or you're a young, you'll like MGM version. My DD, then 3, loved it.

However, she absolutely fell in love with Alladin at DCA! The first time she saw it she was about 4 and she hadn't seen the movie yet. Now it's one of her favs and we've seen the live show at least 9 times. (The show lasts about 45 minutes.) We like to sit up front so she can interact with the camels. The genie is very funny and very topical. (I think I've seen 2 different actors) He mentions Trading Spaces, Arnold the governator, the grocery strike, the election, etc. I like the show so much that I bought the Cast Recording CD just to get the extra song by Jasmine. I would compare it to anything on Broadway (yes, I've seen both B& the B and Lion King) as far as quality of the show and performers. It's just the best!

The Snow White show is good, but to me, not as good as Alladin. I think the songs in Alladin are terrific.

As far as the Alladin show at Disneyland, it's a small, kinda cute, shortened version of the movie (very shortened). I think only Jasmine and Alladin appear. Other characters are acted out by audience members. Kids get to sit on rugs on the floor. It's a nice diversion, and kids like it.

5 days and counting to WDW!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug:

Yes, Disneyland generally runs both Snow White and Aladdin at the saame time, but Snow White is down for a 9 month rehab, altough no one seems to be too sure why it is down for such a time period.
