Alabama DVCers? -- Got 15?

How bout the Galleria food court............we could push as many tables together as needed....everyone could eat what they want..... and then go to the disney store.

The burgers are the best. I haven't found a bad Whataburger location yet.

Either Bass Pro Shop or Whataburger might be good. Like I need an excuse to go to either one of those.

Are there any Whataburgers in Bham?

I know there is a whataburger in Chelsea...LOL just down the street from us on 280! GREAT burgers and fries!!

The mall sounds good too, since we can get what we want to eat and then shop! LOL

Not sure where a whataburger is in B'ham but I'll look online and see.

here is the list

Have you guys been to a Bass Pro Shop? I think it just about puts the Wilderness Lodge to shame. I've not been to the one in Leeds, but the one in Prattville has a really good, upscale restaurant that has a lot of fish, but other food as well. They also have a small private dining room. The one in Prattville seats 16.

The Whataburger in Pelham is good for me.

The Galleria food court is good too.

I have one weekend in April and one in May that I cannot attend. I'm teaching a 2 weekend course at Eglin AFB, at Ft. Walton Beach. :beach: Dh will be getting 2 quite good free weekend getaways out of the deal. Poor DH.

As for WDW, we are going in late March so that shouldn't conflict.

I know your DH must be absolutely miserable for those two weekends, what torture.:lmao: I can't wait for our trip to Destin the middle of March.

Goofysgal,

We live in Chelsea, too. Small world, and yes, we have a Whataburger right down the road. Now, Whataburger is good, but I'd love to have In-n-Out burger over here on the East Coast...

As to a Dis-Meet, is anyone else going to WDW for Spring Break? We'll be at OKW from March 15-22 if anyone is down there...

... or we could just meet in Tuscaloosa on April 18 for A-day game :thumbsup2

Ours isn't until April 13-17 for the Oxford City Schools. My son at JSU will be out March 16-20. I think I may take off the week in April, unfortunately a WDW trip isn't in the cards, maybe a day trip to Chattanooga or something during that week? I'll probably take off a few days during my son's spring break as well. We'll probably make use of our Robert Trent Jones trail cards to play a round of golf or two.

I have 2 1/2 weeks of vacation time to use or lose by April 24 so better believe I'll be using it!

WAR EAGLE FANS here. We've been to Disney over 20 times and when we went this past November and my husband saw BLT, we decided we'd buy in. We had rented points and stayed at AKV one time but mostly stayed at value resorts. We are SO excited about going this next November in a 2 bd. We have a 19 year old son at AUBURN, an 11 year old daughter and a 4 year old daughter. So we've got many many years to go to Disney.

Oh, yeah, we're from Montgomery!!

You mentioned staying mostly at value resorts. It was one week with two kids at All Star Music that got us to buy. We were in our room, cramped, watching the DVC video and the wife called and booked a tour. We had just got our tax refund, so we used as our deposit and the rest is history. We have gone 1 to 3 times a year since.

The best was when we took 10 of my in laws to a Grand Villa at OKW for a view day. Took a lot of points but I did get free food all week. :thumbsup2

Love my DVC.

you are nice. most of time even with family it is just 6 (my brother's family) and me and mother. so it was 2-bedroom.

he tried to talk me into a gv a couple of times - but it wasn't worth the point price for me.

now mother can't travel anymore - so sold OKW and was buying only 100 points at BLT - so why did I get 170.....:confused3

We never minded staying at the Values until this year. For the last 10 years we've only been in Nov and Dec and didn't use the pools and were not in our rooms that much. We really loved the food court at Popl

That said, I guess since we're getting older, Pop really felt cramped this year and we didn't even have our son with us. We stayed nine nights though and that's part of the reason. Anyway, I'm so excited about buying in and we're looking forward to taking grandparents and kids friends and then when my son marries (several years away, I hope), we'll take his family!!

By the way, how do you post pictures in with your signature?

Our three stays at Yacht Club spoiled us. We had previous stays at CBR and two at All Stars. We stayed at CSR in 06 and had our traveling friends staying at VWL and that pretty well convinced us to check into DVC. We met with a DVC guide on the day we were leaving and asked her to give us the reader's digest version and run some numbers. We decided then to join.

I own at SSR and haven't stayed there yet. We have had two BWV stays, a VWL trip and a few days at Vero. I hope to stay at all the DVC resorts eventually.

Yeah, once you get used to the villas, normal hotel rooms just won't cut it. We love the space and the resorts.

Tidefan: We will be staying at POR on March 20th, and moving to BWV on the 21st. We are celebrating my 40th birthday on the 24th.

We are in Montgomery. Are you a native? Dh is originally from Wetumpka, but I'm a North Alabama transplant. We live close to Vaughn and Perry Hill. Welcome to the Alabama DVCers thread. I've added you to the list.

When had three of us at one church in Oxford that are DVC members! Through my job I met a DVCer in Pell City and have a colleague from Montgomery that is a DVC member. BTW I have photographed three weddings in the last couple of years in Chelsea.

Hi ya'll! We are in Mobile. Have been DVC members for just a year and a half. We are loving it. We've been to AKV (our home resort), ABD to Italy in September '08, and are going to HHI in May, then back to AKV in December. WAR EAGLE!!!:cool1:

Hi we are from Trussville and have been members for just over two years. We call BCV home and have already done an add on and it still is not enough points. Add us to the Roll Call and Roll Tide.
