Here is a link to today's Al Lutz Update: www.miceage.com/allutz/al010808a.htm

Highlights include:

1. DL reaches capacity numerous times over the holidays

2. New Little Mermaid ride at DCA shaping up to be a full-fledged E-ticket - will open in 2011 for DCA's 10th anniversary

3. New World of Color show debut delayed until summer 2010 to accomodate all of the DCA changes

4. Cars Land updates - construction to start this June and will open in 2012. Plans for Drive-In Restaurant shelved :sad1: to make sure the new attractions are not compromised :)

5. Neat new YOMD plan for "Dream Magic Hours" where winners will get an extra hour at DL or DCA after regular hours. First DMH to be on Jan 15 at DCA.

6. More talk of new Disney hotels at DLR

Well I just finished reading it.

I woke up this morning and said, "It's Tuesday, and I bet Al has an article today. Sure enough there it was. But then my DD showed up early to do a project. Ummm! I had just filled my coffee cup to sit down and read it. So I had to wait to read it. :sad2: I almost wanted to ditch her so I could. :lmao: But I knew if I did that, she would seriously give me the look of "Mom you're nuts and have a problem!" :rolleyes1  I quess I am guilty as charged!

I enjoyed it very much as usual. But 4 years seems so long to wait for everything. And my goodness................I'm not getting any younger! :headache:

I wish they could have kept the Drive Inn restaurant, but I'm glad they gave it up, instead of cutting the budget on the attractions. Al's right..............they can always add it later. And who knows...........they might just decide to add it in right away. Alot can happen between now and the future. Here's to hoping! :woohoo:

I still hope to see Mickey's Philharmonic somewhere! I know I've said this before, but that was the only attraction I wanted to see come here from WDW. It was the best!

Thanks Trey!

Questions:
1. Where is the GardenWalk?
2. Where is Little Mermaid going?
3. The Color of Dreams is going to be out in the existing water area at CA right?

Questions:
1. Where is the GardenWalk?

I'm pretty sure it's on Katella, but on the other side of Harbor than the hotels like Candy Cane Inn and Anabella. That's from hearing about people walking there during another site's regular meet-ups, and looking at a couple maps.

I'm bummed about the diner. That was one of the things I was most looking forward to.

Yes, Bumber is right about #1. LM is going in where Golden Dreams is now. World of Color will happen on the lagoon in Paradise Pier and has the goal to be a fabulous show that rivals Fantasmic and becomes a big draw for DCA in the evenings.

Thanks a bunch, I looked up disney gardenwalk anaheim and I found it...across the street from the cast member parking lot. I thought I heard at one time that they were going to build a water park in that area. Of course like the article things are changing every minute!

world of color? I hadnt heard about that it looks itresting will the have anything up this year?

My friend who lives in Anaheim was trying to tell me months ago that they were building a "Disney Walk," which I now think was supposed to be the Garden Walk! And I have heard for years that there was going to be another park, but at one time it was supposed to be a West Coast version of Epcot, then I heard a water park. I can tell you, as a lifelong SoCal resident, we could do without Epcot if we had the option of having a version of Disney Sea or Animal Kingdom out here, but because the land area available for developing is so limited, I doubt they will ever bring an Animal Kingdom here. In fact, I am surprised that they are able to build more hotels - I actually expected that Disney would buy out some of the non-Disney hotels along the boulevard there and just turn them into Disney hotels, like they did with the Paradise Pier. The neighbors in that area are vehemently opposed to mroe development and have been fighting it for years. But Disney is a HUGE money maker for California, and we are very much in debt out here, so anything that can be done to bring in more income and create more jobs for people can't be all bad!

I'm pretty sure this question has been asked previously, but does any one know when things are going to start getting shut down so construction can start?

I was under the belief that The Muppets would be shut down soon and the work on the main entrance is supposed to start in the next few months...

Does this sound right to anyone else? Or have I created this problem in my mind because I'm due to be there in March?? :confused3

I am excited about the extra dream hour that you can win. I could obviously sense the sarcasm in Al's tone as he wrote about it, but I think it sounds great! I was resigned to the fact that I'd have to just deal with shorter hours then I wanted, but now there's a slight possibility that I might be able to hang around for another hour!! :yay:

I think I read that they are delaying the construction of the main entrance.

I don't remember the "time frame" for all the construction times...BUT I remember reading that when they do start work on CA main enterance that they will MOVE the enterance to the left a bit so that we all enter CA right at Muppet Vision. I would guess if that were the plan that they wouldn't close MV or work on that at that time.
I know I'm not MUCH help...but I read that some where recently!

When I stayed on the 5th stupid floor of the Desert Inn and Suites in the back, I saw a parking lot behind the hotel. Is that it?
