Its like reading news from another planet. Al Jazeera claims to be "fair and balanced", but the site reports only negative stories regarding America and our troups, and some of the stories are out and out slams at us (one headline reads "America Remembers Geneva Convention"). Still, Al Jazeera is where the majority of people in that region get their news. It is worth your while to see how the war is being reported to them and how we are being portrayed.

Here is a link. If it doesn't come up, keep trying. The site is a bit unpredictable.

Wow, this is really pathetic. It is nothing more than anti-American propaganda.

It's "unpredictable" because it's under a DOS hack attack.

If you really want to see a story spun beyond all recognition, read the story about the Oscars on the Global Reaction page. It talks a lot about Micheal Moore of course, but it also throws in the following:

"Hollywood stars in the past have had to pay for their anti-establishment views. During the height of the Cold war, in the McCarthy era, the US government prepared a blacklist that was used to harass artistes like Paul Robeson, Ring Lardner, Elia Kazan and Zero Mostel"

Incredible! And the scary thing is that most Arabs reading this will probably not realize that all that was 50 years ago, so they will probably assume this has some relevance to the current situation.

I get page not found, but will try again later.

Hmm, looks like the site is down.

Al Jazeera has been a very terrorist friendly station, so that needs to be taken into consideration.

I've been trying and can't get the page to come up. Al Jazeera is a rather strange animal to me. While they cater to Arabs and, in my humble opinion, terrorists, they seem all to willing to get their stuff aired right here in the "land of the infidels". I guess it's good for business. But I admit, I am curious to check out their English website - that Arabian is just way too funky for me. ;)

I tried several times this morning and it only comes up page can't be displayed. :(
