AKV waitlist odds

I know this is a speculative question so I am expecting pure speculation for answers. What do you think the odds are of a wait-list coming through at the end of November for an AKV studio, savanna view?

I would speculate they are slim. There will only be part of the Jambo portion open by then and those who made reservations have the specific intent to keep them -- unlike what can happen with other resorts, you are not likely to get a cancellation at AKV because someone has made a ressie at AKV while waiting to come off the waitlist elsewhere.

You've also got the whole developer-points-that-had-to-be-used-within-7-months thing going on. Any reservations made with those points can't realistically be cancelled without losing the points.

According to the promotional literature the rooms along Kudu Trail are scheduled to open in December, 2007. That will almost double the current capacity of DVC at AKL. My guess is that the guest relocations to other resorts will allow the construction of the Kudu Trail rooms to be completed ahead of schedule.

At least I hope so. I'm in a standard view studio for the middle of November and on the waitlist for a Savanna view studio or one-bedroom.

They changed the construction schedule and are doing the concierge and value rooms (originally scheduled for May '08, now scheduled for Dec '07) before the Kudu trail rooms. I haven't heard a new date for the completion of the Kudu trail but it seems unlikely they can get it done by December unless they are way ahead of schedule. I wish they would update that construction map and let us know the new dates.
