Friends recently toured DVC and said that the AKV are being offered with a concierge add-on. They said for an extra number of points purchased, you would get access to concierge level services (ie: breakfast, food & beverage throughout the day). Has anyone else heard this?

The point charts for AKV do show a concierge category which is a higher point cost than savannah view. However, I don't know what services it entails or how many units it is available on.

There will be a concierge level available on May of 2008. It will cost more points than the other levels. It doesn't seem to cost much more than the next level down in my opinion.

The next level down is Savannah View. Not all of the Concierge category rooms will have a view of the Savannah. It can be requested, but you really won't know until after check-in whether your Concierge level balcony faces the animals.

There are only five units (all 2-bedroom lockoffs, so 10 rooms total) in the Concierge category. That's just over 1% of all of the AKV rooms. It's likely to be extremely difficult to book.

Thanks! When they mentioned it, I was lost since we haven't looked into AKV...

FYI: It doesn't matter how many points you purchase, all that matters is that you get the covetted reservation. I am just amking a distinction because it sounds like there was a misunderstanding- that if you bought more than X points you would be buying a special privelege.
It looks like the concierge rooms are very limited and will be very hard to book- even with the home resort advantage.

Thank you for clarifying that Volts...they did make it sound like you could purchase additional points to get the concierge level of service for each stay.

My guide told me that the concierge rooms are very limited and that he expects them to be booked within the first hour or two when they open up at the 11 month window. I can't plan that far ahead. The 7 month window is hard enough for me!
