I am renting a standard view from a member. Is it possible to upgrade to pool view? Has anyone done this and know cost?

If you are in Jambo House, most Standard View rooms overlook the Uzima Pool. At Kidani Village, Standard Views may be Pool View, Garden View, or Parking Lot View. You can not upgrade for cash.

Do you know if you are booked in Jambo house or Kidani? If you are at Jambo, your standard view WILL be a pool view. If you are at Kidani, it can be pool, parking lot or garden.

DVC members are not given nor can they request upgrades unless the unit they were booked in is suddenly taken out of service for maintenance issues etc.

You will need to work thru the member you are renting from for any changes to your reservation. If you want a different room category it may involve a cancellation and rebooking. You won't be able to upgrade yourself unless there are maintenance issues at the resort when you arrive.

As already mentioned, depending on which compnent of AKV you have already reserved, you may already have a pool view villa.

Standard view at Jambo will be either a pool view or a partial savannah view. At Kidani you can request the pool view and hope but there isn't an actual category for a pool view at Kidani so no way to upgrade and guarantee it.

Any actual view upgrade (in your case would be going to a savannah view from standard view) would have to occur with points and if the resort did that the person you rented from would be very unhappy with your requesting and receiving it.
