AKV Value Studio - what to request?

We are thinking about trying out AKV for the first time next Sept/Oct. We would be renting a Value Studio there - do they take requests like any other room for these? We will have our own car, so being close to the bus stop isn't important to us. We will have a toddler that may take an afternoon nap, so I'd love a quiet location (or a Savannah View! LOL ) can anyone that has stayed there in a Value Studio give me an idea of what might be a good request to make?

We love SSR & have stayed in a Grandstands Studio there a few times - overlooking the golf course (which is perfect for us), but want to try something new this trip. The kid's water play area at AKV looks awesome & obviously so are all the animals!

DVC will not take a view request for the Value Villas. Of the studios in the Value category, only 2 face the parking lot. All the others face either the Sunset Savanna or the Uzima Pool (8 on each, max of 18 value studios). 10 of the Value Studios are part of 2-bedroom Lock-offs.

They no longer take any requests in relation to the value rooms except ones for persons with special needs; 40% overlook a savanna, 40% the pool and 20% the front are and parking lot and it is luck of the draw which you get; they ceased requests because most requested savanna view and many were disappointed. All values are clustered at the front of the Jambo building and all are fairly close to the lobby and other amenties including busses. There are a limited number and getting one at 7 months can often be difficult.

Well, although they told me they wouldn't take view requests, they did take my request for a specific room ("or room nearby" I said). But the result when I got there? I got the farthest possible room from that area. I've had value studios at AKV 6 times, 5 times I've gotten pool views and once I got a savannah view. The one time I got a savannah view I'd made absolutely no requests. So that's what I'm going to do from now on.

The kid's water play area at AKV looks awesome

Just an FYI: All Value villas are in Jambo House. The water play area is at the Kidani pool area so you will have to walk or take the Downtown Disney bus or the resort shuttle over to Kidani to use the water play area. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the front entrance of Jambo House to the Kidani pool area.

ETA: When returning from Kidani to Jambo, you can take any park bus since they stop at Kidani first, then go to Jambo House. The Downtown Disney bus stops at Jambo House first, then Kidani. The walk isn't scenic and you do cross a couple of roads into the resort but it isn't strenuous and is usually faster than waiting for a bus.
