Hello,

We made our first DVC purchase this spring with AKV being our home resort. We are planning a trip for my entire family for next summer. It looks like we will need a 2-BR plus a studio for 7-8 nights depending on our final plans. The dates we want to go will be opening up in the next month. My question for some of you with much more experience -- is it imperative to book day-by-day or would it be OK to book the entire trip on the 11 month mark of the last day?

Thanks,
Josh

Welcome home and welcome to the DIS!! :)

Day-by-day may be important (I do not use it by the way) if you want a villa that is in very short supply (possibly the value villas at AKV) or you are trying for a peak time of year such as July 4th week, Easter week (before and after) and Christmas/New Years.

I would think you wouldn't have any problems this far out booking the entire stay at once.

We recently booked a Concierge Studio at AKV for a week next March (during Spring Break) and didn't have any difficulty.

The sooner the better, particularly since you are wanting 2 units.

I'm one of those that doesn't mind calling day-by-day if I want something very specific (# of villas, special categories or dates, etc.). For those type of trips, the extra effort is worth it to me (for peace of mind). IMHO, given the overall small-ish number of villas in Jambo, if I needed a 2-br plus a studio I would do d-b-d. :thumbsup2

Once Kidani is completed, I don't think that will be needed at AKV, unless you again want something very specific (CL, values, etc.). :goodvibes

I just booked a 2-bedroom standard view for the 1st week of June 2008. I did it all at once.
:goodvibes

It depends upon what kind of accommodations you want. I have booked at AKV several studios for this fall, and I could not get concierge or a view of the animals, but was able to get standard view. I even have a night at the beginning and end of my vacation in July:woohoo: and I could only get standard view:sad1: and I called at 9:01 on opening day.
