Just wondering if there is a lot of difference between AKV std view and value? Has anyone stayed at both at Kidani??:confused3

Kidani doesn't have any value villas. They are all at Jambo, and they are all designated value because they are all smaller than the other villas.

I've stayed in value studios and 1 bedrooms at Jambo and found them to be adequate for the number of people in the villas. I generally book value studios for 1 or 2, and 1 bedroom with 3 adults. Next September, I have a value 2 bedroom and plan to have 3 girlfriends with me.

At Jambo, the value villas can face the parking area, the pool, or the sunset savannah.

Correct me is I am wrong but the value ones are based on size not view I think. They are just smaller than the standard ones.

There is also only like 10 2br eqivelant in the value category. So the 11 month window is almost a must have in order to guarantee a value room.

Besides the lock off 2 bedrooms, there are a few dedicated value studios. At first, if your reservation mentioned "dedicated" you knew you had a value studio on the savannah. At some point, they stopped making that distinction.

Oh, no!:scared1: I hope that's only true of the 2 BR values, not the value studios. I LOVE the value studios-so far I've been able to get one at 7 months every time. Since the bill-payer won't approve buying points at AKV (something about groceries, gas, mortgage:confused3), I'm hoping I can still get one at 7 months.

I'm looking forward to our first stay in a value studio next May. After the BLT studio last weekend, it might seem large! :lmao:

we'll be staying at a value for the first time next may also. we have only stayed at studios that are standard and savanah views.

I just got back from my stay at a value studio at AKV. I had a dedicated studio with a savanna view - it was room 5120. It looked like the room next to it - 5122 - was also a studio and would also be a dedicated room. The value room is a few feet shorter than a standard AKV studio room, but not enough that it made that much difference to me. In looking at the pictures of the BLT studios, the part of the room that has the bed and sofabed in it looks about the same size as an AKV value studio, but I could be wrong.

I was shocked that my room was ready when I checked in on Saturday, October 16th at 9 a.m. My friend who came with me kept saying that the room must not have been occupied the night before, but I told her that I thought this type of room would have been booked up months in advance. When looking in the end table drawer, I found a person's room key with their trip end date of October 13th, so it did make me wonder if the room had been empty for a few days.

All in all, it was a great room, and it only cost me 146 points for a 14 days stay. I thought that it was a real bargain, especially since I got a savanna view!

I'll hope we get that studio too!

I will be calling at my 7 month window to see what I can get. I still need to make the final decision on points. We are trying to get either AKV, BWV, or BCV as these are the ones we have not stayed in. I appreciate all of your responses...it really helps!:flower3:

Would a standard view at Jambo also face either the parking lot, pool, or savanna? And what are the standard views at Kidani? :confused3 I always book a savanna view, but to save on points, I'm considering a value or standard view for future trips as well.

no a "value" category has those views because it is based on size, not on the view.

"standard view" villas at jambo are mostly (if not all) pool views.

"standard view" villas at kidani are parking lot (and pool, i believe) views.

Good heavens, that is an old microwave! My room had a newer microwave in it. The fridge had a freezer section in it, too, although we didn't use it.

I called at exactly the 7 month mark for Feb 13-18 and got a value studio. The only thing I am worried about is getting the parking lot view, only because of the noise. Someone on here said she heard the trucks in the morning. I am a lite sleeper and so is DH. Now I am thinking of changing my room if I can. I am confused and don't know what to do. Has anyone else ever stayed in the parking lot view of the values?

I don't remember if I've ever heard of anyone getting a parking lot view. Of my 4 value studios, 3 were pool view, 1 was savannah view. If you're a light sleeper, you probably wouldn't have liked the very first one I had, pool view. As you might know, the beds in value studios are right next to the slider, with the couch on the other side. Well, the studio had a direct view of the pool, which made it a little noisy after dark, with all the swimmers laughing, yelling, and splashing.

I would be worried about the noise also...Sending pixie dust your way in hopes you do not get the noisy room!:wizard:

I was in a 1 bedroom value, with a similar view and yes, up through 11 PM I heard people in the pool, after that I did fall asleep!
