AKV reservations...what did you get?????

Mixed results here. Had to waitlist for any 2 bedroom for Jan 1, but got 2br Savanna View for the 2nd and 3rd. I'll just hope the pixie dust comes through for that first night -- it's a present for my brother and his family. But youngest DS and I will also enjoy it!

After waiting on hold (via the toll-free number) for 1.5 hours, DW called the 407 number and, after fifteen minutes, had our December reservations (2nd-5th for one studio for DS and his family, 2nd-6th for another for us). :thumbsup2 I was STILL ON HOLD! :headache:

The customer service rep told DW that most hold times were running 10 - 15 minutes. :rotfl2: So, a word of advice: don't wait on hold forever! After a half hour or so hang up and try again. It's not like you'll lose your place in the queue -- after that long I don't believe you even have a place in the queue any more!

Called the 407 number -- I was on hold around 9:45 for only about 10 minutes! I got spring break - March 15 - 21st in a Savanna Studio. Very happy. I'm a bit bummed there was no concierge, but I'm sure I'll be staying there some other time! :)

Call back. System is fixed, they can check to see if it's been entered yet, and if not...can enter it for you. Just make sure you explain the whole situation and make sure that CM tells your "original" CM not to enter the ressie twice.

I just did that and got in in less than 2 minutes. I have my confirmation for a one bedroom savanna view March 15-20! Yay!

I also canceled the original studio I had booked as backup at VWL for the same time frame so there are a few nights opening there if someone is on the waiting list for a studio.:cool1:

I got through on the 407 #. I now have a two bedroom for Sept. 25-30. :woohoo:

Since we are trying VWL and BCV this June and AKV in Sept., we will have stayed in all of the Disney World DVC's.

I've been on hold now for 1 hour 20 minutes. I called the 1-800 #. On another line I had DW call the 1-407#. The voice there said her wait time would be 8 minutes. So do they have a different queue for the toll-free number? I'm ticked!!!

The Disney Phone system is NOT good. This happened to me on the cruise and it has happened on other Disney reservations (not just DVC) The queue system is BROKEN!!!!

I complianed and got no where.

I called just now, 10 minute wait, got what i wanted 10/26 2 nights Savannah View studio.

I got in right at 9:00. After the initial selection, it rang for a long time before the Member Services recording kicked in. Then I was able to get Sept.. 6-9 (choice of dedicated or lock-off studio, Savannah View) for me and 10/21-25, standard studio for a friend.

Cool!

PS
Systems must still be overwhelmed. When I click on "Vacation Details" under my contract, I get: "The page you are trying to access is currently not available."

Woohoo! :cool1: Got the one bedroom, savannah view, Dec 15 to 21. Only had 200 points to use so couldn't do a whole week. Hopefully I can call in June and add the other day to the reservation.

Awesome!

Got our AKV Standard View Dedicated Studio for Feb. 8 - 11, 2008 :thumbsup2

The blow-by-blow:
Started calling MS 800# @ 8:59
Got through @ 9:09
On hold until 9:24
Had confirmed reservations by 9:52, after three more times on hold while 2008 issues were fixed.

Whew!!!!:yay:

FYI - I just called MS and got right through. I was told that availability is still good for AKV 2-bedrooms for most dates...FWIW.

I can't believe it! Finally got through, only to be told I can't use my points until September 1st! Vacation is August 18-25! Told to call back June 5-most rooms are already gone! Funny, I could use my points in January for VWL, but not for AKV? I am boiling mad as I write this, also crying! DVC was very rude too! We were never told anything about when we could use our points! This stinks! I hope no one else has to go through this!

From the contract:

"You may immediately begin to make reservations at DAKV on May 16th, 2007 for stays beginning on or after your Unit is available for occupancy. The estimated date your unit is available for for occupancy...is listed on the first page of your Purchase Agreement."

on my first page, it clearly shows September 1st as the estimated date for occupancy. I'm sorry that MS told you anything different, but MS and my guide have made it clear to me from the start to read the contract carefully, I couldn't book until today, and for stays only after Sept 1.

Also, I was told they were only booking SV, no standard/value rooms available for 2007? I was bummed b/c I had to use more points than I'd planned.

Our December 2007 reservation is for standard view. Don't know about earlier than that.

Anybody run into any problems "splitting points"?

DW and I originally bought into SSR (150 pts) and then added AKV (50 pts)
as soon as they came out. When I tried to book this morning for Sept 07, I was told that I could only book now on my AKV pts and would not be able to use my SSR pts until June 6th. This upset me but I dealt with it....until I found out that some friends of ours were able to book a week long stay in Oct 07 with practically the same point setup as us. Needless to say, this upset me greatly.

I called MS and got the same story as this morning. When I stated that some friends called this morning, in the same boat as I was, and were able to make their reservations, the MS supervisor asked for their name. I asked if she would cancel their reservation if it was how I said it was, she said she would!!!

Got in this morning at 9:15 with a 15 minute hold and got our dates of Nov. 25 thru Dec 1 in a 2 br and a studio SV! I am so happy we are new DVC owners and we are taking my brothers family for their first trip to the World!

Yep, I asked if they could pull my SSR points over, since the SV was costing me more than I'd planned and the answer was no. I can call back June 6th to use those points, but now is ONLY for AKV points (which is fine and how it should be)

Were they able to book a week-long stay at AKV or SSR?

We kept our reservation at WKV for the time being. I guess I will try again on June 6th.

I really didn't mind the rules surrounding this other than the fact that I checked, repeatedly, to make sure what I was wanting would work out and was assured, again repeatedly, that it would all be fine. Then, this morning, they mention a "memo" that came out long ago :confused3

That really stinks that you were given wrong info....

FYI, it's ALWAYS the case when "splitting" points that you can't use the non-home resort points until AFTER the "home booking window" expires. USUALLY, that means you can't use the non-home resort points until the 7 month window....this time it means you can't use them until June 6th.

I tried calling immediately 9:00 and kept getting a busy signal. I got through at 9:03 and only waited on hold a few seconds. I was able to get the room we wanted.

AKV 2 BR Savannah View December 30 to January 2 (We will then moved to BCV for a split stay until January 5)

The whole call took a total of 45 minutes though because of the problems with their computers. The waiting was not an issue for me as I realized it was going to be crazy with today being the first day to make reservations.

I only wish that concierge was available before May.

We got our NYE Booked Studio Dec 30th-Jan7th. I don't know if its a dedicated or lock off. Is there really a difference except you have the door in your room?

I was got the BUSY signal for about 10 minutes of so and decided I was going to the front desk to ask if they could get me through. We are at the BWV right now:goodvibes . They got me through in about 5 minutes. I was on hold for about 15 minutes then another 5 minutes while they figured out the 2008 thing. All and all it would out pretty well. :thumbsup2
