Does anyone have any info on what incentive might be offered after June 4th for purchase of points at AKV?

I am a current member and want to buy into the resort but we are not quiet ready. I don't want to miss out on the current offer which expires on June 4th if they are not offering any incentive after that for a while.

Thanks. Jo-Anne

You will receive more responses to your question over on the DVC board. I'm moving it over there.

The current member price and incentive ends June 4th. The price will go up to $104 per point at that time, and there has been no announced incentive. I really don't expect there to be one for AKV again for awhile. New properties usually have a member pre-sale 'deal', and then go to "new sales" mode after that. Since our member pre-sale deal was in March and our current $101 price/point ends June 4th, I wouldn't expect to see much for awhile. Of course, with DVC, you never know!

I have a hard time believing that DVC won't have another "incentive" of some kind. I just can't see them selling contracts for $104 per point...Not when the resale market and current ROFR seems to be around $84 for the other DVC properties. I guess we'll see soon enough.

it seems like they always have some kind of deal going on. it makes it look good. lets say the price is 101 dollars with 8 dollars off the price will be 93 dollars. than lets say they had the price at 93 dollars with nothing off. its exactly the same price but more people will buy in at the 101 with 8 dollars off, because it looks like you are getting a deal.

It's the same with car lots or furniture stores, etc. Ever seen one that wasn't having a "sale"? ;)

I heard Disney was raising their resale points for sold out properties $3 and $6 a point for BCV? Has anyone else heard this? Wonder if resales not via Disney will go up a little if this is correct.

So what would that make Disney's per point prices on resales for OKW, BCV, BWV, WL, etc.?

Thanks,
Steve

I'm curious to see what (if anything) will be offered on SSR.

You'd think they want it 100% sold out to encourage AKV sales but there's no guessing what the strategy will be.

Close! Just came back on May 31 from a week @ SSR. Received a weeks worth of mail on June 1. In that pack of mail was more DVC AKV propaganda:laughing: . This is what it said:

"Start Your Adventure Today.
To purchase an additional Owneship Interest in Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, call your Vacation Club Guide today. You can receive a credit of $8 per Vacation Point with the purchase 100 or more Vacation Points"!

The operative word here is "additional".

Small print states, "Current Member prices for an additional Ownwership interest start at $2600 for a 25 Vacation Point Add-On".

Therefore, $104 per point - $8 per point.

I have not seen any more specials for "initial" DVC purchase. You never know!

Do you think they will have an incentive later like they did at SSR that allows you to "sell back" the current year points for an incentive (seems like it was $8 a point then too)? We want to buy in, but are not planning to go until 2009. I was hoping that they would have that same incentive for AKV so I could sell back the 2007 points and get the price break, since we won't use the 2007 points anyway (and banking only gets us to 2008). Anyone think this may happen in the next 6 months or so?

Are guides allowed to throw in extra incentives for people who are on the fence? Like... I don't know....Passes.
Just curious.

Not really. Disney pretty much sets the game plan and they go from there. The most I have heard is guides helping to get your first reservations to push you over LOL!

There is no need for extra incentives. The program sells itself...especially right now as there is a huge DVC surge.

The individual guides never have the authority to "up the ante" so to speak. The most you can hope for is (1) help getting the reservation you want for your first stay; (2) free ice cream cone! :lmao:
