AKV or OKW?

So I am planning to take my best friends family in May of 2010. I have the points to do a number of things and am not sure which would give us all the best experience. Our party would be three adults and one five year old. They have never visited the World before.

Option 1: 2 studios at OKW. Pro's - everyone has a real bed and we have our own space. Con's - we don't have a car and the buses may get old, the studios are the most like hotel rooms of any resort and might not give them the best impression.

Option 2: 2 studios at AKV (value or standard). Pro's - our own space, less like hotel room. Con's - someone would be on a fold out bed.

Option 3: 1 bedroom at AKV (standard). Pro's - a much nicer space even if we don't need the kitchen. Con's - at least 2 of us would be on pull out's for sleeping. Slightly more points. Not sure how it will be for them having less of their own space.

So what would you do/prefer?

2 studios, for privacy and beds.
Now, I like OKW when I don't have a car--we stayed there last summer with 3 kids without a car just fine. You can request HH (near Hosp. House) and walk over to pool. Community Hall, restaurant and to catch the boat to DTD. And, yes, IMHO a studio does feel just like a hotel room.
So, if the WOW factor is important, I would stay at AKV. It is like no place you have ever seen or stayed at. But, it is farther away from stuff---but my view is that once I am on a bus, who cares if it is 5-10 or 15 minutes. have fun. Elaine

I would pick option 2 because of the sofa for daytime getting together, and a place to go back to, for each group to be alone.
We've done 3 studios with 6 adults at VWL, and for lunch, we gathered in one of the studios and ate a combination of cold cut sandwiches and some hot bought things from Roaring Forks. Somehow it worked.

Thanks for the input. I've stayed at both resorts and like both of them for different reasons (which is why I focused on room differences).

I'm leaning towards Option 2 so we have our own space but also have room to get together. I'm sure the 5 year old won't be disappointed to be on the pull out.

Of course, the 1 bed would be nice....

both OKW and AKV are far from the action - besides AK that is.

so that levels out.

OKW is getting a rehab - you could get almost new room - same everything but newer.

that say definitely love AKV - having to take the elevator downstairs to eat - vs - getting on a bus - is pretty wonderful.

like my privacy - so they get their own studios.

I'd choose Option 2.

Although I've stayed in hotel rooms with friends many times in the past, now that I've graduated to staying in a room alone with my DW I really appreciate having private space. Thus, the 1 bdrm sort of loses its appeal when you are talking about 2 separate families.

Also, I can't imagine a 5 yr old caring about whether he's in a bed or a sofabed, so, that issue seems irrelevant.

I'd also add that if you're looking to show off how DVC is different from a hotel, you should take advantage of all the community extras regardless of where you stay. (Rent some (free) DVDs, build a drum, make ice cream, go to story-telling, etc.)

I'd say 2 studios at AKV.. the kids and adults will love the animals and the theme of the resort.

For a first timer definitely AKV. (2 studios) It really has the WOW factor. I didn't find any of the bus rides that long either.
