I have read that this is a great thing to do when you stay at AKV. Where exactly do you meet the CM and do they charge a fee to participate?

We participated at the Lodge, so not sure if there are other viewing stations. Night vision binoculars are provided, at no charge, no share among guests. We had not used these devices before, and were amazed by what we could see in the dark. The kids loved it.
If you call the Lodge directly, they can probably provide more information.

We would like to know about this too for our trip in January. First time staying at AKV. Do you know what times it is offered? Thanks!

We were there end of Aug/beg of Sept and participated on our last evening. We were staying at Jambo and the CMs had the night vision goggles at the overlook behind the pool area. A few people were a bit worked up because the CMs showed up later than the stated time....it wasn't dark enough to see anything so they started later...unbelievable how people get. Unfortunately, they don't extend the time on the other end. The kids lined up and had a short amount of time to use the goggles. There were only 2 or 3 so time was very limited.

We did it when we stayed there 3 years ago. It was pretty neat. They were putting hay out so that the giraffes were close.

We didn't think it was that great. Not too many animals out. We didn't find it crowded though.

It's available at Kidani and Jambo. I would check at the desk to learn the location. At Jambo, it was once located by the huge rock when we were there.

So what are the hours?

So what are the hours?

If remember correctly, it was supposed to be from 7:30 until 9:30pm. The night I went with my 2 sons, the CM said that they wouldn't be bring the goggles out until approx 8:45pm because it wasn't quite dark enough at 7:30 to see anything with them. They showed up with the goggles at 8:45 and the kids had about 45 minutes to take turns using them.
