so it looks like disney is opening all the gyms to everyone staying at WDW - regardless if their resort has a gym or not.

so far the other DVC resorts are not saying this.

Is there a fee if you are not staying at AKV? Also, do you really think many people will actually make the special trip over there to use the facilities if they are not staying there to begin with? I guess it would also depend on how much Disney advertised this option being available to guests.

Hi Spicey, I'm willing to bet just as PP suggested that there will be a fee for non-AKV guests to use the facility. Last July, we stayed at BWV for one night, and because the pool was so crowded, pool hopped to SSR.

While at SSR, DH wanted to use the gym facilities (they're so nice at SSR! ). So, he approached the front desk and asked if he could use the gym even though we were staying at BWV and they said sure, it'll be $10 (I think that's what it was). It wasn't free, but definitely open to us as guests of another Disney resort.

I don't see people going out of their way to gym hop (esp. with a fee). We were already there using the pool, so we def. didn't make a special trip. He'd have used the BWV gym if we hadn't pool hopped.

I can't say for sure but I am positive I read somewhere it will be 12 dollars for a day pass.
