AKV-need the lowdown on the different room categories

We have a family of five in November and would like to reserve a one bedroom that would fit 5. Does that mean that I should not reserve "value" but go with S, SV or C? Also, I read somewhere that the new 1 bedroom villas would have 2 bathrooms, is that a request or a whole new new category of rooms? Also, I was wondering if the C category is worth the extra points?

I am editing because I found an old thread by LisaS where she explains the different categories and am assuming that you really do not know until you check in the location, building or kind of view you have by choosing standard view.?

You are correct that a Value 1BR accommodates 4 people and a 1BR in the other booking categories at AKV accommodates 5 people. All of the 1BRs in the new building (Kidani Village which is still under construction) will have a second bathroom.

The Standard View is defined as a view of a pool, garden or parking lot. All of the Standard View rooms in Jambo House (the Lodge building) have a pool view. I expect the Standard View rooms in Kidani will be the rooms along the parking lot and pool side of the building so they are the ones that will really have a view of a pool, garden or parking lot (and maybe all three at once from some rooms!)

The Concierge rooms are all in Jambo House. There have been a few recent trip reports on the DVC Mousecellaneous board where people describe the food offerings in the Concierge lounge and the special Safaris available to Concierge guests (available for an extra fee). Concierge guests also get daily housekeeping. Now here's the bad news: there are only five 2BR lockoffs total. Some will be rented as a 2BR villa and the rest will be locked off and rented as a 1BR and studio, so maybe 2 2Brs, 3 1BRs and 3 Studios? Booking 11 months out for Concierge is recommended but some non-owners have been successful calling 7 months out.

This map shows the location of the different booking categories in Jambo House (the Lodge building). The Value villas are in the area marked with lime green, the Standard View area is marked in yellow, Concierge room locations are marked in pink, Grand Villas are marked in orange, everything else is Savanna View. So as you can see, if you book a Standard View room in Jambo House, your room will have a pool view. If you book a Value room, your view will be of the pool, the Sunset Savanna or the parking lot.
