AKV Laundry Question-- Free?

Does anyone know if there's free laundry for the studios at AKV? I know the 1BR will have laundry in the unit.

I'm new, but I was under the impression that at DVC resorts, free laundry was available.

I'm going for 13 nights, but it's a 3-way split stay. 4 nights in a DTD hotel, 4 in a AKV studio and 5 in a AKV 1 BR. I'll need to do laundry!

There are laundry rooms usually at the quiet pools, and yes, they are free. Wish I had known that before I got $5 worth of quarters

Just keep in mind that AKV I don't believe has a quiet pool yet since the existig rooms are just renovated AKL rooms. The new Kadani village set to open in 2009 will have all the standard DVC perks. Maybe someone that has been already can give a definite answer.

I asked our guide about this and he said there WOULD be a "free" DVC laundry up on the 5th floor. Now....I'm not sure if he was right...or where exactly it will be..but he DID say there would be. He also said it would be in one of the last phases of construction. To me, that means it might not crop up until December or January.

My impression is that you'll need your key card to get into it, so that the hotel guests won't be able to use it (there is a coin-op down by the pool).

This is what I was worried about. I remembered the laundry locations at SSR and OKW.

I'll call MS to see if they know, or perhaps even the front desk.

I read on a AKV trip report that they don't have the free laundry area for DVC stays yet, but if you go to the front desk they will reimburse you for your quarters in the AKL laundry machines.
