AKV Kidani - Sept. 2009

Yea!! I just called MS and got DW and myself a studio at AKV Kidani checking in Sept. 27 (my birthday) for next year. I am really excited about staying in Kidani. The CM did mention construction and that does concern me somewhat, but in the past DVC has done a pretty good job of keeping the construction noise and sights out of sight IMO. This may be a bad assumption (you know where that gets you) - but I'm assuming that all of the public guest areas (pool, lobby, restaurants, etc.) will be open. We had been planning on staying at BWV for this trip because of F&W, but the more we talked the more we decided to go ahead and make a 11 month ressie at Kidani, just because we love AKV so much.

Much of Kidani is opening May 1 (including pool, restaurants, store). Also, since all of Kidani is supposed to be done by Sep 1, I doubt you will experience much in the way of construction noise.

We're gonig to be down there right about the same time....JUST before you actually....to celebrate some stuff ourselves.

We'll be there the 19th - 25th.

20th - Son's birthday

23rd - 10'th wedding anniversary

and for good measure, while we're down there, we're going to celebrate my youngest daughter's birthday....which is likewise on the 27th!!

We will be there in June 2009 and were told there would be some construction also. I suspect that since the resort is supposed to partially open in May '09 that the construction will be on the far end of the building as they finish out the last of the units. I would think that by September most, if not all, of the construction should be done.

We stayed at Jambo House as they were opening the new DVC units there and were warned of the noise issue then too although we never heard anything. We tend to spend most of the day out of the rooms so it was never an issue for us anyway.

We will be at Kidani Sept 25th thru Oct 4th- 2 bedroom

They must be mentioning "the" construction noise to everyone. When they told me that I said I thought everything would be completed by Sept. I was told it could linger on to the end of the year. I am assuming just small things that need to be done but they want to cover theirself in case anyone complains (IMHO).

We're staying at Kidani May 9-16 - right after it opens! I'm not too worried about the construction. I just hope the new water play area is done!

BTW - My birthday is Sept 27 also!!
