We are counting down to our next trip- just a little over a week away! We are wanting to grill some steaks, but I have never grilled over at AKV Kidani.

Are the grills propane? Or will we need to get charcoal from wegoshop? Also, bbq utensils such as tongs, etc...available in the rooms, or do we need to check them out somewhere?

Thanks!

You will need charcoal for the grills. As far as utensils go, I'm not aware of any special ones available. Just the regular ones in your kitchen, assuming you have a one bedroom or larger.

Thanks. Last year we didn't cook anything but breakfast in the room, so I didn't pay attention to what barbeque utensils there were. We'll have a 2 bedroom. Anyone know how many grills there are? Is there ever a problem getting a grill?

Our other home resort is the VGC, which does have gas grills- no charcoal needed.

We spent a week at Kidani earlier this month and never saw the grills used in our time there. There were I think 3 grills there. We passed by the pavilion on the bus every day.

They never appear that busy. Problem is, that the pavilion they are in can be QUITE far from your villa depending where you are located. If you are at the far end of the "necklace", you will be over a quarter of a mile from the grills. Unless there are some near the pool? I only have ever seen the ones the buses pass on the way to Jambo. Plan on bringing some foil or something to wrap up your food to/from.

Good point about the foil- would have forgotten that. Don't want cold steaks!I requested close to lobby, but we'll see what we get.

I don't believe there are any barbeque utensils in the Villa, just your regular serving fork etc.
Good Luck

I was just at AKV last week, and I could have sworn that I saw something on the literature I was given that you could check out things like tennis raquets and BBQ grill utensils. I was surprised when I saw that, but then I thought it made sense.

I was told that you could get the utensils from the community hall to use. We saw one family using the grills while we were at Kidani, and they were eating their dinner at the picnic tables by the grills. Note - there was a sign right by the grills telling you to watch out for alligators - the grills are right by a pond.

That's good to know....about the utensils, and also about the alligators!

I sure wish they put them closer to the pool. :headache:

With the location they are in I will never use them.

That is good to know as well. I know at our home - BCV there is no Community Hall and no utensils. We were at Vero a few weeks ago and there were no utensils there at all. I guess it depends on where you stay
