I am a bit confused about something and maybe someone can help me understand. In June I bought at AKV, they had just re opened Jambo house to sell the remaining points they had available. I was told by my guide that once Kidani opens AKV will be just that AKV there will be no distiction between Jambo and Kidani, and they were only separated due to the construction and opening phases. That being said, I have read a few posts where people who have booked at Jambo stating they are going to switch to Kidani when the reservation window opens in August. If your rooms aren't assigned until close to the checkin date and the resort will be known as one resort how are people going to switch. What am I missing?

I think your guide was trying to explain that your AKV points could be used at either Jambo or Kidani. However, they are going to be different bookings and you'll know when you make your reservation if you are in Jambo or Kidani - just not a specific room.

The Kidani building will start taking occupancy by DVC members May 1. Come Aug, members can start reserving rooms there for May 1 and after. Jambo and Kidani are one DVC and as a member your dues, 11 month window, and everything will be the same. The only difference is that when you call for a reservation, you will pick whether you want Jambo or Kidani and you will be guaranteed the building you pick. You will then check in at the particular building you have picked.
