Can anyone state the differences between Jambo Standard vs. Value studios? Any info would be appreciated!

Wow, that is good to know. Is that a guaranteed booking, dedicated studio?if you get a dedicated value studio - it will be either pool or savannah view.
lock off - is pool, savannah view or parking lot.
Lisa, can you post your rooms map again...trying to visualize where the values vs. standard Jambo studios are. Thanks if you can!The Value and Standard View studios are the same width but the Value is shorter by about 3 feet, taken from the living/sleeping area of the room. There is not enough room for the bench seat with drawer that the larger studios have so you will have less storage space in the Value studios.
He really was confused, considering that none of the dedicated Value studios face the parking lot! They face the pool area or the Sunset Savanna. The only studios that face the parking lot are lockoffs.Just want to say that when we stayed last summer we had a dedicated value studio and the guy was trying to put us in a standard parking lot view and insisted that is what we were supposed to get. We pleaded our case and involved a manager and ended up facing the pool. I think they were not sure exactly where we were supposed to be!
Until today I would have said yes. But based on the discussion in this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=31459131 I'm not sure if MS still considers dedicated studios to be a separate booking category. Is it possible to request a dedicated Value Studio? I just booked today for November and got a Value and would really like to have a pool or Savanna view.
Thanks!
Some things don't show up on the website. I bet if the OP to that thread called, she would still have the "dedicated" ressie. Hopefully we'll get an update!Until today I would have said yes. I agree but up until now the dedicated vs lockoff have been treated as separate booking categories at AKV (and respected at check-in with only two exceptions reported here) and now there is a report that that changed three weeks ago. I hope we get some more reports to either confirm that this has happened or to dispute it in which case it may just be an uninformed CM.DVC has to track the dedicated/lockoff assignments on each reservation in order to properly monitor inventory. If inventory is showing a vacant lockoff studio and lockoff 1B in the same category, they can then book a member in a two bedroom villa using both rooms. But if it's a lockoff 1B and a dedicated studio, the 2B booking won't work.
The lockoff/dedicated designations have never consistently appeared on paper conformations or the website, but they are flagged appropriately in the computers.
HOWEVER, the "X" factor to all of this is what happens at the front desk. CMs don't always seem to appreciate the distinction. We most frequently hear about this at BCV where lockoff / dedicated / dedicated with 2 queen beds are three distinct room types. And most guests expect to get exactly what they booked--particularly if it's the 2Q room.
So MS should know whether a member has a lockoff or dedicated reservation. But the front desk can still be inconsistent at assigning rooms.
