Does anyone know how many one bedroom value rooms are there?

I was told there are 3 views parking lot, savannah, and pool view.

Does anyone know how many there are of each? I tried to find this answer, but I could not. Thanks!

i believe there are as many as 10 value 1BRs...but all are part of 2BR lockoffs, so if people book 5 value 2BRs, then only 5 value 1BRs would be left available to book. not many.

only a few are parking lot view but someone has to get stuck with them at some point, as the value rooms are typically 100% booked.

There are 10 total. 4-savanah view even room #, 4-pool view even room #, and 2-parking lot view, which are on the same wing as savanah view and have odd room #. They are on the 2 front wings of the lodge, close to lobby. Trust me, I have booked the 1-bedroom value 6 times in the last 3 years.

So do the rooms seem much smaller? They say they are 3 feet shorter. Did you notice a big difference?

Also, in your six times booking how many times did you get the parking lot view?

I got it for 7 nights. I lucked out, and I was able to add on two days today so I am quite happy to say the least.

I've booked a value studio, 1 or 2 bedroom at least 10 times since they have been available. I've had savannah view 5 times & pool view 5 times. The last 4 times have been pool view so it's been a couple of years since I've gotten savannah view.

I book studios for 2, 1 bedrooms for 3, and a 2 bedroom values for no more than 5. These are all adults, I wouldn't want more people in them, but that's just me.

I did not notice a differance. I had savana 3 times and pool 3 times. Funny the last 3 may trips I have had the same pool view room.

I so hope I get either a savannah or pool view, but I am getting a good deal so I won't be so picky.

I was looking at the video of the bathroom. Is it the same size as the bathrooms in the studios, but with a jet tub instead of one of those big round separate spa tubs?

None of the AKV rooms in Jambo have a separate jetted tub. It's a high rimmed shower tub combo in the 1 and 2 bedrooms. That's due to reconfiguring the DVC rooms from existing hotel rooms.

The value rooms were created from former standard hotel rooms, and that's why they are 3 feet shorter, and have more narrow balconies. Value rooms are all in the front of the hotel on the Ostrich, and Giraffe trails.

Thank you for this great information. This morning I called Disney to book a 1 Bedroom Value for May 2013. This room type was available on the website, but I wanted to request a savannah view (no guarantees I know). The CM told me the website was incorrect and that all 1 Bedroom Values were rooftop, parking lot or landscape views only. He said the only way to get a savannah view was to book the 1 Bedroom Savannah (+$1000). He put me on hold and checked with Guest Services and confirmed there are never 1 Bedroom values with Savannah view. Should I call back and get another CM? Is the website wrong?

This was our view from our value 1BR....maybe this is what the CM meant by "landscaping":confused3

....so, yes, the CM you spoke to was misinformed. The value villas face either the pool (4), the Sunset savanna (4) or the parking lot (2). You cannot make a request regarding the view...you get what you get.

I just booked a value 2br & 1br for a combined two weeks. I had to speak to 3 different MS reps. Each one of them told me that I could request pool view for the values but not savannah view. And they reminded me that It was a request and not a guarantee. We know that we have plenty of options to see the animals but I really hope we don't get a parking lot view for 2 weeks!

they are not supposed to take requests for value room views.

there are less than 20 value villas available, so they tend to be booked up and someone has to get the parking lot views in exchange for the cheaper rates...

(speaking as someone who has gotten the parking lot view one time and a savanna view one time.)

There is no guarantee of what room you may get, period! If you get room 5004, for example, it may be listed as a pool view, but in actuality You are getting a Boma roof view with a little bit of a pool view. On the other hand, you may luck out and get one of the savannah views. It will all depend on where the studios are being used when you arrive. I was told by one of the room assigners that they assign room 3 days in advance.

Yeah I know. Anything that isn't an actual bookable category is always just a request and never a guarantee. I was just responding to the PP who said they weren't even able to request savannah view. I was able to request pool but not savannah in my 3 calls to MS. It seems that they will allow you to request pool view but not savannah for the values. I also requested to stay I the 1br portion of the unit when we switch from the 2br. Again, we know it is only a request and the possibility exists that we will have to move units.

If we end up with parking lot view oh well! We will enjoy the view from the villa in the next vacation that we are able to take using the points we saved by staying in the values! :)

right. but if you want a savanna view guaranteed, pay the rate for a savanna view room.

if you get a value with a savanna view, great. but since you are getting a discounted rate for a smaller value room, sometimes you have to accept whatever view you get. just enjoy the discounted rate.

(it would be ideal if there were a point cost/price distinction between the different value room views but since there are so few rooms, that is unlikely to happen.)
