Can you tell me the plus / minus of Jambo Grand Villa verses a Kidani's Grand villa.

Friend is going June 26, 2010 for a week in a Grand VIlla, and reservation 11 month window is coming up shortly.

Going on trip -
Grandparents with mobility issues but have scooters.
Grandkids (3 under age 6), and (3 age 7-10) who love water and would like the water park (if it's up and running by then).

Dad's like beer and pool table....

Please give us your opinion and why for what we should request.

Thanks in advance,

GOldi and friend in VA

The Jambo House GVs are one story. That would be good for the grandparents. They also have a pool table which would be good for dad.

The Kidani Village GVs are two story and do not have a pool table.

Goldi, I agree with erionm. I would recommend Jambo house since the GVs are all 1 story and have the pool table.

From all reports, they can go to the pool area at Kidani even if there are staying at Jambo.

Is the Jambo GV on 1st floor, or by an elevator?

And if the kidani water park up and running yet? (fully functional).

Looking for info from anyone who's stayed in a AKV GV as well....

FYI - It was 736 points (so friend had to combine points for 3 years).

The Jambo house ones are on the 5th floor. I am not sure how close they are to the elevators, but my guess is that it is a ways.

Yes from the reports that I have seen the Kidani pool/water park area is fully up.

All of the GV in Jambo are at the ends of hallways, so yes they will be a distance from the elevators. But they are 1 story and have the pool tables.

Decisions, decisions.

We stayed at Jambo and loved the space of the GV along with the pool table and spacious master bath ( it has a tv). The dining room table seats 12 easily and the pool table was a lot of fun.

We were in the unit at the end of the building which was a very long walk from the elevator especially with groceries since we weren't allowed to use the cart without a bell services guy pushing it himself.

We would love to stay there again. We would just walk over to the Kidani pool.

We booked a Jambo grand villa due to my father being physically handicapped so cannot go up and down stairs easily. I would also recommend this for your grandparents.

The Jambo Grand Villas are at the ends of the spokes as you can see from the picture below. http://www.****************/images/AKVJamboViews.gif

#34 as shown on the pic is the only HA GV room. We personally requested # 8 or #12 for our trip in April. Those are not the room numbers, so please do not ask for those when requesting your room.

this one is good to show you where the elevators are:

There is also a link to a view finder or something I think on DVCnews.com. This really helped us figured out where we wanted to stay (and the wording, and room numbers to request). Hope this helps.

As dgaston said, the GVs are at the end of the hallway spokes. In this drawing, the orange blobs show the location of the GVs in Jambo House.

Also, just so you aren't disappointed when you get there, I don't think Kidani's pool area qualifies as a mini water park. It does have a good slide and the water play area looks like fun but to me the term "water park" suggests a lazy river, waves in the pool, etc. and it doesn't have anything like that. So I would describe it as a pool and "water play area" rather than a "water park". Having said that, it is a very nice pool area.

Does anyone know the room number of the GV by the pool (shown as item 2 on the map above).

We'd like to request this....

Best, Goldi
